Quit The Cigarette Addiction With NLP and Hypnosis by Alan B. Densky, CH
Breaking the smoking habit is a necessity at this point in history, because cigarettes have been banned from restaurants and other public places. In fact, it is the smart thing to do for more reasons than good health alone. This commentary explores the very best hypnosis techniques that can be employed to make it as painless as possible to break the addiction to tobacco.
There are three separate components to a cigarette addiction. Two of the components are mental/emotional, and only one part is physical.
Part A: YOU SMOKE FOR RELAXATION AND PLEASURE.
When you were an infant and you started crying, your mother would put a nipple into your mouth to distract you from that upset. You would get distracted, become calm, and often fall asleep. That scenario was repeated dozens of times so that your unconscious mind was programmed: When something goes into your mouth, you get relaxation and pleasure from it.
Now that you are fully-grown, if you feel nervous or tense, you crave something in your mouth for relaxation and pleasure – a cigarette!
Part B: SMOKING IS A CONDITIONED RESPONSE.
Remember Pavlov? He rang a bell every time that he fed his dogs. After a few repetitions, he could just ring the bell, and that would trigger the dogs to salivate.
When you pair smoking a cigarette with any other activity, the other activity will trigger cravings for a cigarette and a feeling of urgency that makes you feel compelled to smoke. This is called a conditioned response.
For example: If you smoke when you see someone else smoking, you will automatically get an urge to smoke each time you see someone else smoking.
Here is exactly how this conditioned response gets programmed into your unconscious: If a person smokes a cigarette and simultaneously drinks a cup of coffee, the mind takes a picture of the cigarette in the hand, and associates it to the cup of coffee. Thereafter, every time the person has a cup of coffee, the subconscious fills in the missing part of the picture. It flashes an image of the cigarette, and the smoker gets a craving for one.
You may not be consciously aware of the mental picture of the cigarette, because it may only be at the unconscious level of mind. Just as you are unaware of what you are seeing through your peripheral vision until someone or something draws your attention to it. But the image is there, creating a craving for a cigarette.
Part C: THERE IS A PHYSICAL ADDICTION TO NICOTINE, BUT . . .
I’ve worked one-on-one with several thousand people for smoke cessation and I guarantee you that the physical addiction is the weakest part of the habit. In fact, I believe that it is only ten percent of the smoking habit. ninety percent of the smoking addiction are the mental and emotional parts! (Parts A and B).
HERE IS WHAT THIS MEANS TO A SMOKER WHO WANTS TO QUIT.
If you can eliminate the anxiety that pushes a smoker to put cigarettes into the mouth for relaxation and pleasure (Part A) . . . and when you erase the conditioned response of feeling a craving for cigarettes when having a cup of coffee, driving, or finishing a meal, etc. (Part B) . . . then you can give up cigarettes without needing willpower, and without experiencing withdrawal symptoms or gaining weight.
Hypnotism can help encourage a smoker to stop. Hypnosis will make it easy to give up cigarettes because it takes care of Parts A & B! Here is how:
Part A is where smokers smoke a cigarette for relaxation and pleasure. It’s your thoughts which create anxiety. More specifically, people always create mental movies in their mind’s eye. If the movie is negative, it brings about a feeling of anxiety.
We can use various hypnotic methods to train the unconscious mind to instantly take those stress producing mental movies, and automatically exchange them for relaxation producing mental pictures and movies. This creates relaxation and pleasure, and eliminates the stress that triggers the oral compulsions for a cigarette.
Because of the elimination of anxiety, the smoker who is quitting doesn’t feel the compulsion or need to substitute food in place of the cigarettes. So quitting without weight gain is possible.
Part B is where smokers light-up because smoking becomes a conditioned response to many different activities and locations. Remember in the earlier example how smoking became unconsciously associated with other activities and environments so that each time you get into that activity or environment, the mind flashes an image of a cigarette, and the image of the cigarette causes an urge to smoke?
There are stop smoking hypnosis, and stop smoking NLP techniques that can quickly extinguish those conditioned responses so that a person’s mind will lose the cravings for cigarettes, and the compulsion to smoke. As a matter of fact, you can even get a compulsion to reject the cigarettes.
TO SUMMARIZE
To summarize, when we use certain hypnotic and NLP techniques, it can be very easy to stop smoking without weight gain or having to suffer from withdrawal. And many of these hypnotic methods do not even require post-hypnotic suggestions. They depend on training the mind to use the same thought processes that the mind is using to create the smoking habit, to eliminate the mental addiction.

Stop Overeating: Help To Make Over Eating Stop by
Stop Overeating: Conquer Your Food Addiction
When trying to stop overeating, it is important to realize that you may be dealing with an addiction. These days, at last, the problem of overeating is now seen by many as an addiction. A number of harmful stereotypes are connected with overeating. Until recently, people struggling with obesity have been viewed as lazy and gluttonous. The common reaction is to tell the obese person to just cease the habit. This is similar to telling a smoker to just stop smoking or an alcoholic to just stop drinking. Unlike these other addictions, an overeater still has to eat to survive, making recovery from his addiction even more difficult.
Addictive Overeating
Although there is a plethora of health conditions that occur with obesity, many Americans continue overeat. The addicted overeater uses food to medicate a variety of different issue the same way that an alcoholic uses alcohol to numb his pain. Accepting this as an addiction is the first step in being able to stop the habit. Studies have shown that the same areas of the brain are affected when an overeater has cravings as when a drug addict has drug cravings.
Body Image and Obesity
Body image plays an important role in the process to stop overeating. Many eating disorders have at their core a distorted self image. Anorexics see themselves as fat and some obese people see themselves as thin. People diagnosed with obesity sometimes show genuine surprise when told that losing weight is a must. Body image also plays into self-esteem. Low self-esteem has been determined to be a very common trigger for overeating. Both low self-esteem and distorted body image need to be addressed in order to stop overeating.
Symptoms of Excessive Eating Addiction
There are many symptoms of addictive eating habits. The most obvious is obesity or being overweight. When chronically taking in an excess of calories, the body stores the extras as fat. Another sign is eating a great deal over a few minutes. Overeating addicts tend to eat food at a rapid rate, sometimes barely chewing it completely. Often the food binge is followed by feelings of guilt, remorse and self-loathing. Many overeaters say to themselves, “I can’t control my eating problems.”
Health Ramifications
Many health problems are associated with obesity and eating too much. Immediate conditions include indigestion, nausea and bloating. Long-term health effects can be life threatening. Long-term effects can include high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. Even though people who overeat often know about the consequences of their eating, just knowing about the potential problems is not enough.
Treatments for Overeating
These symptoms need to be treated as an addiction in order to be treated effectively. Programs that are similar to other addiction treatment program are available for overeaters. There are also a lot of self-help treatments available as well. Self-hypnosis is one of these that have been seen to be effective in treating addictions and can often help people to stop overeating habits and establish a healthier relationship with food.
The habit of eating too much can often be helped by listening to a well made self hypnosis recording. Stop Overeating by Debbie Williams is a good example of this and you can get it here hypnotherapy recordings shop.

Hypnosis Can Help You Create Total Self-confidence by Alan B. Densky, CH
Self-confidence is a demeanor, which allows people to have incontestable, yet realistic views of themselves and their situations. Self-confident people count on their own know-how, have a general sense of control over their lives, and have confidence that, within reason, they will be able to do what they want to do.
Self-confidence is a posture that is conditioned through experiences. When a person experiences success, that person will tend to expect to be successful. And that expectation will cause a feeling of confidence.
For example: A young man wants to be a prizefighter, so he gets a trainer and a manager. His manager will not put him into the ring until he has acquired proficient fighting skills. And even then, the manager will only put him up against an opponent that he knows his fighter can hammer. When his fighter beats the opponent, he is successful, and starts to gain a feeling of belief in his proficiency.
With each bout, the manager puts his contestant up against an opponent who is a slightly better opponent then the last, but not good enough to beat his man. By the end of the third fight, the young competitor begins to expect to win his fourth, and so his confidence continues to evolve. This scenario continues to repeat itself. And as long as the competitor wins, his expectations of success, and his feelings of self-confidence will continue to evolve.
If a person who has a long history of success and feelings of self-confidence does fail, they still tend to expect success the next time out. Conversely, when a person who is weak in the self-confidence department fails, they tend to lose confidence, and begin to expect failure, which can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Having self-confidence doesn’t mean that individuals will be successful at everything. People, who have true self-confidence, usually have expectations that are down-to-earth. Even when some of their expectations are not met, they continue to be positive and to accept themselves.
People who are not self-confident, tend to rely unreasonably on the approval of others in order to feel self-esteem. They refrain from taking risks for fear of failure. They often belittle themselves and tend to discount or ignore compliments that they do receive.
Conversely, self-assured people are willing take a chance on disappointing others because they generally believe in their own skill. They tend to accept. A lack of confidence is often the result of centering completely on the unrealistic expectancies of other people, especially those of parents and friends. The power of peers can be more powerful than those of parents in shaping the feelings about one’s self.
Beliefs That Continue to Influence Self-Confidence
In response to external influences, people develop assumptions; some of these are positive and some are negative. Several assumptions that can interfere with self-confidence and better ways of thinking are:
ASSUMPTION: It’s imperative that I am successful at every challenge that I undertake. This assumption is unrealistic. In life, each person has their strengths, and their weaknesses. While it’s important to do the best that you can, it’s more important to learn to accept the self as being human, and fallible. Feel good about what you are good at, and accept the fact that no person knows everything nor are they an expert at everything.
ASSUMPTION: I must be perfect, and loved by everyone, and satisfy everyone. Again, this assumption is unrealistic. All human beings are imperfect. It’s better to develop personal standards and values that are not completely dependent on the approval of others.
ASSUMPTION: Everything that happened to me in the past remains in control of my feelings and behaviors in the present.
ALTERNATIVE: While it is true that your confidence was especially influenced by external influences when you were a very young child, as you mature, you can gain consciousness and a new slant on what those influences have been. In doing so, you can choose which influences you will continue to allow to have an effect on your life. You don’t have to be helpless because of past events.
HERE ARE SOME STRATEGIES FOR DEVELOPING CONFIDENCE
Emphasize Your Strengths. Think about and give yourself credit for everything you can do. And give yourself credit for every new thing that you are willing to experience.
Take risks. Adopt the perspective of: I never fail, because there are NO failures. However, sometimes I find out what doesn’t work, and once I’ve learned what doesn’t work in a given situation, I can try something else.
Use Self-Talk: Use an inner dialog with yourself and counter harmful assumptions. Then, tell yourself to stop. Substitute more reasonable assumptions. For example, when you catch yourself expecting yourself to be perfect, remind yourself that no one can do everything perfectly, and that it’s only possible to do things to the best of your ability. This allows you to accept yourself as you are working towards improvement.
Make mental movies: Visualize yourself in the various scenarios that you currently lack confidence in. But see yourself behaving as a person who has tremendous self-confidence would. There are powerful NLP and self-hypnosis techniques that you can use to instill a huge amount of self-confidence from within your subconscious mind. There are even NLP techniques that will let you take confidence that you do have in areas of your life, and then transplant that confidence to areas of your life that are lacking confidence!
Self-Evaluate: Learn to adjudge yourself independently. Avoid the frequent sense of chaos that comes from relying too much on the opinions of others.

You Can Do It by Roseanna Leaton
This is probably the most powerful affirmation you can make, the most empowering thought to hold in your mind or comment to hear from someone whom you look up to and respect. This belief opens up doors which would almost certainly otherwise be closed, locked and sealed.
For example, do you remember what her coach called out to Kerri Strug (gymnast) as she was about to perform her last vault in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia? Kerri had injured her ankle severely in her previous vault but despite that she proceeded to get a 9.7 and clinch the gold medal for her team. Bela Karolyi was seen and heard urging her on with this simple phrase â “you can do it”!
This phrase is simple. It is clear, concise and leaves no room for misinterpretation. It carries far more certainty and belief than alternatives which come to mind; “go for it!”, “do your best” or “try your best” are weak by comparison to say the very least. The words which you say to yourself, or allow yourself to take on board from others inevitably trigger an emotional response in you.
For Kerri, hearing the words “you can do it” must have elicited an absolute belief in her ability and a determination to win. What would the outcome have been, one wonders, if Bela Karolyi had instead directed her to simply “do your best”?
I am certain that Kerri would indeed have done her best no matter what, but she would have missed out on the added internal appreciation that her coach firmly believed she could do it under the current circumstances. One can only speculate to what extent that added belief urged her on to overcome pain, retain her focus and perform to such a spectacularly high standard.
All top athletes believe that they “can do it” otherwise they would not be at the top of the game. It is this level of belief which sets them apart from the rest of the field. And self-belief doesn’t only dictate your results in athletics and other sport; it is what sets you apart from the crowd in everything in life. Self-belief, self-confidence, self-esteem or anything else you would like to call it, is what powers success in everything.
To reach this high level of self-belief, one has to learn to challenge needling voices which from time to time can be heard in your own mind as they express their doubts or fears. This internal “doubting Thomas” has to be confronted and over-powered. He needs to have his ears boxed and be firmly ejected from the rooms of your mind, all the way from attic to basement, and sent out into the cold!
Sometimes your “doubting Thomas” will try to sneak back in, but you can, like a thermostat, intentionally set your mind and senses on high alert. You can learn to spot his shadows lurking in a corner, hear his hissing voice as he whispers to you, and smell his not so pleasant odor. By learning to detect his presence at the earliest opportunity you can easily clamp down on him, kick him out of your home and lock the door in front of his face.
This mental mastery can be learned by everyone, not just by “the chosen few”. Hypnosis is an incredibly powerful tool in assisting you to train your mind to this degree. Hypnosis allows you to access your subconscious mind which is the part where inner beliefs and instinctive thought processes are stored. Simply my listening to a hypnosis mp3 you can build your self-belief and train yourself in mental mastery.

Want To Lose Weight, Quit Smoking? There Is A Secret Equation That Guarantees Success by Alan B. Densky, CH
For nearly all folks, the boulevard to individual change and self-improvement is a long and winding highway filled with difficult barriers. Drug companies in particular have capitalized on and created gigantic fortunes because of the elusive search for the “Magic Pill” that will cure all ills. As it turns out, there is a secret formula for success, and it begins in the subconscious mind.
One of the laws of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is that “there is a positive intention behind all behaviors.” And based on that law, when it comes to successfully eliminating negative behaviors, there is a formula that we must keep in mind. I’ll let you in on the secret formula in a minute. But first, I have a riddle for you to solve.
Riddle: A holy man made his child drink lye, which burned out the child’s voice box. What was the positive intention behind this behavior?
If you are like 99.9% of the clients who have come into my office since 1978, you’ll exclaim something like: “There isn’t any positive intent behind that behavior.” But you would be 100% mistaken. To answer this riddle, first you have to separate the behavior from the positive objective of the deed.
The minister’s child was cursing. And the minister believes that if his child curses, his soul will be condemned to Hell. So the answer is that the minister was burning out his child’s voice box so that he couldn’t curse. By doing so, he was saving his child’s soul from being damned to Hell.
The secret equation for personal change works as follows:
We should always value the positive intention behind each behavior. If we have an impulse to engage in a behavior that we don’t like, we can quickly get rid of the impulse to use that behavior. All we must do is to find another behavior and substitute it in its place. To be successful, the new conduct must be as accessible and efficient at accomplishing the same outcome, but be more consciously acceptable to you. This is called a REFRAME.
When clients come into my practice, one of the first things that I do is to take a methodical case history. In this instance, let’s imagine that they come to me and ask me to help them lose weight. Conventional wisdom tells us that the two main reasons that anyone eats too much are: (1) to tranquilize themselves; (2) because eating can be a conditioned response. Case in point, if a person eats while they are talk on the phone, they will develop a conditioned response, and thereafter, every time they talk on the phone they will get an urge to eat.
However, the above answer only takes into consideration the possible positive intention behind the eating behavior. What if they also have another behavior that is involved in the equation? For example: What if being overweight is also a behavior for this person? I can hear your mind spinning right now as you think, “Being tubby isn’t a behavior, what are you talking about?”
Sorry but you could be entirely wrong. Here is one classic textbook example that will illustrate the fact that being tubby can be a behavior. It can be a behavior because it can supply secondary gains.
Example: A woman is in love. Her partner breaks up with her, and breaks her heart. Her unconscious mind wants to shield her emotionally and keep her from having her heart broken again. So it motivates her to get tubby to keep her out of relationships. Because if she isn’t in a relationship she will not get her heart broken again.
Everyone is totally different. And sometimes there are unconscious elements at work that cause compulsive behaviors. These are elements that are different for each person.
Here’s another example: A woman comes into my practice complaining of an out of control compulsion to eat way too much at mealtime. During the case history, the woman explains how she has never been able to please her father.
During an age regression, we learned that one of her early memories was of eating a meal with her family. And her dad was insisting in an angry voice that she finish all of the food on her plate, even though she was stuffed. So she ate the food left on her plate because of fear, and her father praised her for eating all of the food. It was one of the only times in her life that she could recall her dad telling her that he was happy with her.
Jump forward to present day. Dad has been dead for years, but the unconscious program he programmed is still at work. She still has a compulsion to finish everything on her plate, even if she is feeling full, because by cleaning the plate, in her subconscious she is getting her dad’s approval, and eliminating her own fear!
So if you are having a problem making personal changes, please remember that there is a positive intention that causes all behaviors. And the secret formula for success is to alternate a different behavior that will realize the same positive intention, but in a way that is more consciously acceptable to you, as an individual. The most efficient way to get your unconscious mind to accept the responsibility for making this kind of alteration for you is through an NLP 6-Step Reframe.

The Do’s and Don’ts in Your Golf Mind – Part 1 by Roseanna Leaton
Have you ever wondered why sometimes the more you don’t want something to happen the more likely it is that it does happen? That’s kind of a strange co-incidence don’t you think? Let’s examine what happens when you try to not do something…
Try as hard as you can right now to NOT think about a giraffe.
What are you thinking about? It’s almost certain to be a giraffe! Now ask yourself did you see the word “giraffe” or did you see it’s rather long neck?
So what does this tell us about how our minds work? Firstly, in order to comprehend what it is we are trying not to think about we have to focus on what that thing is. Secondly, we tend to picture it rather than think about the letters of the word; an image of it comes into your mind’s eye. And this makes sense if you think about how you learnt as a child; You would have a picture book with the words next to the picture, and that’s how you would learn that that particular word represented that particular picture. The picture has more impact – the picture comes first.
What we can learn from this is that where there is a conflict between your will power and your imagination, your imagination wins. Hence in several previous article posts I focused upon the power of visualization in creating a great putting routine, and more particularly, the power of using visualization as a practice routine which you can execute at any time when you are unable to get out and play golf.
If you haven’t quite appreciated as yet the extreme power of this mental skill, think of the times that you have stood on the tee thinking “don’t go in the bunker” and hey, presto – amazingly that’s exactly where the ball ended up. Your mind is EXQUISITELY TALENTED. Unless you are a pretty low handicap player, for most of us to aim the ball into a bunker that’s 180 yards away and 2 yards in width, we would probably have to have a few attempts before succeeding; and yet, just by THINKING “don’t go in there”, it does. Wow! Isn’t that amazing?
Once again, what can we learn from this? As you think “Don’t” your mind has to comprehend “don’t what?” and will PICTURE whatever the object it. And a “picture is worth a thousand words” to quote a well-known, and insightful, phrase. What we golfers need to do is simply to use this knowledge to our advantage. We can choose to PICTURE exactly where we want the golf ball to go. You can picture the exact line that you want the ball to travel along, picture the trajectory, picture the ball landing and rolling and coming to a stop. Your mind understands and responds to pictures automatically, instinctively and EASILY.
Sometime soon, why not get out to the chipping area with a friend? Take it in turns to ask your friend where they are going to land the ball, and put a tee there to mark the precise spot. Then ask them how high the ball will travel; hold your arm out to indicate the exact height. This is a quick way of assisting someone to visualize their shot. Then move away and allow them to execute the shot they have pictured. It’s amazing how your visualization skills will improve as you do this, and in this way you are clearly telling the golf ball what to do – you are chipping with clear intent. The result, quite logically, is that the golf ball is far more likely to go where you want it to.
Once you have done this, you can go home, put your feet up, get nice and cozy and simply picture the process all over again. You can have a lovely relax on the sofa, simply visualizing all those fantastic chips, over and over and over again, thereby strengthening those neural pathways in your brain, creating an expectation that those great chips will come off as you want them to.
Why not spend some time focusing upon your mind instead of the mechanics of golf? You can learn how to really visualize your shots with the help of hypnosis downloads. Why do you think the professionals use golf hypnosis? They use golf hypnosis because it works; hypnosis downloads can be used to get you to focus, to stay in the now, to visualize a great shot and to see what you really want to see thereby making it happen. And that’s what you want; you want to make it happen when you are out there on the course.

What ‘Makes’ A Relationship For You – And How Hypnosis Will Help You Get It. by Richard MacKenzie
In the last one hundred years the boundaries and definitions of what makes a good relationship have been stretched and distorted into so many new and exciting shapes some good and some awful. So what ‘makes’ a relationship work for you? And what’s more, what could you do to make the relationship that you are in now even better?
Could you seek more pleasure, better communication, more companionship or a better sex life from your partner? Well, hypnotherapy may be what you both are looking for to help you to achieve all of these goals and more.
Within sessions of hypnotherapy, you would realize that over time, your mate will respond subconsciously and will also improve your relationship, even if he/she is not participating actively in dealing with the present issues that you are trying to improve! This means that even if your other half is not interested in going with you for therapy, they can still be affected by it and change for the better. If this is the case you will just be shown techniques that will allow your partner to take notice of the process and want to join in.
There are many issues that can Rock the Boat” when it comes to relationships, however if the reason that you are looking at this article is because you feel that your relationship could be improved, then let me congratulate you on deciding to use hypnotherapy!
Hypnosis can help you make dramatic changes in your attitude which will ultimately improve your relations with others. And amazingly, – as YOU make these dramatic changes, your partner will respond unconsciously, and together you will co-create better communication and rapport.
If this is a bit technical for you, in basic terms it means that hypnosis is effective in dealing with the way we think about things. Thinking is powerful, everything starts with a thought! People that have different perceptions normally have different ideas and views about things.
By improving this type of communication you can completely change your relationships for the better! And this is not all. You will also have a tool to help you to achieve the life of your dreams for both you and your partner.
Because hypnotherapy uses the natural processes of the mind and body, you will be amazed just how quickly you will see the benefits! Remember, relationships are not about big houses, nice cars or even exotic holidays, but they are about two people living and enjoying life as one.
With a little guidance and time you can truly build a beautiful relationship, now isn’t that what you deserve?

Get The Most Out Of Self Hypnosis by Barrie St John
There are many benefits to using self hypnosis. It can be used to overcome fears, fight addictions such as smoking, improve confidence and self esteem, and improve sports performance, to name just a few. In fact self hypnosis can be used to improve just about anything you want to in your life.
For some people self hypnosis is extremely easy and requires very little effort. Some take to it like a duck to water, while other people may need to experiment a bit more to reap the wonderful benefits it can bring. This article intends to help you get the most out of self hypnosis.
Self hypnosis can involve a little bit of trial and error at the beginning until you start to identify the conditions that best suit you as an individual. Variables such as the ideal body position, or the most opportune time of day are truly yours to determine based on your particular situation, schedule, and individuality. It’s important to remember that there are no fixed rules that apply to everyone. Everyone is unique and it is left to you to identify what works and how you can most effectively reach that desired state.
There are, however, a few elements which will help increase your degree of success with self hypnosis, regardless of individual needs. Some of the points I will address or based on listening to a recorded self hypnosis CD or download. However, I’ll start with the issues which should be addressed regardless of whether you’re listening to a recording or not.
A fairly obvious requirement is total relaxation, which usually requires reduced distractions. So it is very important to try and find a quiet place that limits or completely obliterates outside sources and choose a time when you are certain you won’t be interrupted. Ensure that if you have people at home, tell them to not disturb you for however long you want, unless of course there is an emergency.
Knowing that hypnosis is in fact an altered state on consciousness, it bears noting that the early morning may not be the best time. You may find you’re extremely alert and hyper-sensitive to distractions at that time. Instead, pick a time of day when you’re slowing down, or typically starting to feel fatigued. For most people, self hypnosis is best in the evening time, preferably more bedtime.
The most useful bit of advice I can give to a beginner is try not to try too hard. Self hypnosis requires concentration, but being overly focuses on being hypnotized will impair the process. Part of the self hypnosis process is being able to just let go and let it happen to you. Rather than focusing on achieving hypnosis, focus on nothing, and let the message make its way clearly and seamlessly, effortlessly, whether it’s a recording or your own words.
Using a recording is a great for self hypnosis. One key factor in getting the most out of a recorded self hypnosis session is regular listening. Repetition is the key to successful suggestion and the more you subject your mind to the message, the more it will penetrate and impact.
Another important factor in getting the most out of a recorded self hypnosis session is to wear headphones. Not only are headphones great if you’re easily distracted, but they also promotes an intimacy between you and the voice on the recording, closing off outside noises, and facilitating a more direct route to your mind.
Like anything else, you will only get out of self hypnosis what you’re willing to put into it. If you’re determined to find ways to fight hypnosis and disprove its effectiveness, you’re unlikely succeed. This is essentially true of anything we do in life. But if you go into it with a clear open mind and you’re willing to invest the time to find your ideal hypnosis conditions, you can literally reap of benefits of self hypnosis on a fairly regular basis, even daily.

How To Conquer The Grasp Of A Social Phobia by Alan B. Densky, CH
One of the most common phobias is social phobia, a condition in which an individual is afraid of being in a social setting. An individual with social phobia suffers from unbearable anxiety that affects important aspects of their life.
People with social phobia are extremely self-conscious and worried about what others may think or say about them. They are often afraid of speaking up, out of fear that they will be criticized or judged. People with social anxiety tend to be very hard on themselves or suffer from feelings of low self-worth. They are often worried about being seen by other people and find social situations to be quite terrifying.
Some people with social anxieties may seem “shy,” but in the case of a phobia, this is taken to extremes. For example, if you suffer from social phobia, you might be reluctant to make a crucial call because you’re nervous about talking on the telephone. You pick up the phone, but you’re so anxious that you “freeze up” or forget what you were going to say. Although it happens to everyone sometimes, for a person with social phobia it may happen every single time, until they find it near impossible to make any calls.
Imagine it is the night before a big presentation at work and you find yourself in a panic. You hate the thought of being in front of a room with your supervisor and all your co-workers watching as you discuss a new idea or project. You can’t help but feel extremely self-conscious and embarrassed. Even after the meeting ends, you continue overanalyzing everything you did and said. You are afraid that you humiliated yourself in front of your colleagues by stuttering or saying the wrong thing.
Perhaps you want to go to parties and make friends, but you avoid socializing because you’re nervous about meeting new people. You find the crowds daunting and the thought of meeting someone new scares you. You worry about what you will say, or that people won’t like you. You might stay at home a lot because you’re too worried to go out. These are only some of the ways social phobias can influence our daily lives.
Social phobias are overblown fears that can stop you from achieving your professional goals or enjoying your life. But even people who realize their fears are irrational may not be able to handle their fears. People with social anxiety disorder often want to be more outgoing and make new friends, but are really too afraid to try. Despite their conscious desires and hard work, they cannot shake their fears because all phobias are seated in the unconscious level of the mind. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques are the most successful phobia treatments because they work at this unconscious level.
It can be hard for those afflicted with social anxiety to get cured because they are reluctant to visit a counselor or discuss their condition. This is why hypnotherapy programs are appropriate for them. The programs promote a confidence boosting, calm mind frame in a privacy, without being intimidating or overwhelming.
The first stage in a phobia program is relaxation therapy. Hypnosis is a powerful tool for relieving your stress and tension. When you are anxiety free, hypnotic techniques will foster positive thoughts in your unconscious and eliminate your fears. NLP techniques are used to relieve your fears by targeting the process of thought that produces a phobia.
In traditional hypnosis therapy, specially worded post-hypnotic suggestions are used to address every unique phobia. The problem is, people have a tendency to resist being merely told what to do or think, so traditional hypnosis therapy doesn’t work as well as it could. A deep-seated phobia requires the use of Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and NLP.
Ericksonian hypnotherapy techniques are more effective than traditional hypnosis therapy because they utilize suggestions that aren’t apparent to your conscious mind, versus direct suggestions. These suggestions are hidden in conversation, in different stories and metaphors, to convince your unconscious to adopt a new line of thinking. This is why Ericksonian hypnotherapy is much more advanced than conventional hypnotherapy and much more difficult for the unconscious to reject.
A program that utilizes Ericksonian hypnosis therapy and NLP techniques can treat any phobia, in any individual. This is because several techniques are used together to maximize their effectiveness. People are often amazed at the almost miraculous results they can achieve through hypnosis therapy. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP are great tools to help you build confidence and overcome social phobia so you will be able to fully enjoy life.

Exercise Motivation Hypnosis
Exercise Motivation Hypnosis
Motivation Psychology For Weight Loss And Exercise by Alan B. Densky, CH
If you’ve made the decision to reduce – congratulations! For many, committing to their own health is a difficult part. But even with self-motivation, many people realize they do not know what exercises to perform for rapid weight loss.
There are three key kinds of exercise: aerobic exercise, such as biking or running; flexibility exercises, like yoga and other forms of stretching; and strength training, such as resistance exercises and weight lifting.
Aerobic and strength training will help you work off the most calories. Since how much weight you lose depends on either burning more calories or taking in less, it is best to concentrate on these in the beginning to guarantee your self motivation persists as you lose body weight.
Generally, thirty minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week is best. Increase the time and frequency as you move forward.
But many people whose self-motivation has encouraged them to begin an exercise for weight loss program neglect the importance of strength training. Aerobic exercise burns more calories in the beginning, but lifting weights increases muscle mass, and muscle burns more calories than fat. A pound of muscle needs 35 calories per day to function at rest; a pound of fat needs just two calories for the same function.
The fitness consensus used to say that to “build” muscle, you should use fewer reps (3-5) with heavier weights, and to simply “tone,” higher reps (12-15) with lighter weights was best. But there’s no such thing as “toning.” Definition that results from what’s incorrectly called toning happens because you have lost the layer of fat on top of the muscle, making the muscle more visible. The size of the muscle underneath depends on how vigorously you train.
You must “tear down” the muscle so it can rebuild itself afterward. In fact, you do not create muscle while working out but you do in the days after when it is “resting.” The common rule for strength training is beginning with three sets of 8-12 reps at a weight that leaves you nearly incapable of executing the entire set. Then, rest for 30-60 seconds before starting your next set.
Do not be discouraged if you are not able to accomplish all of the reps on every set. In fact, use that to determine when to add weight. If you’re completing each set without any muscle strain, you will want to add weight.
Self-motivation compelled you to begin, but most have difficulty maintaining the pace. It helps to know that the source of our motivations is a belief. Consider it: If you did not believe the gnawing sensation in your stomach meant you were hungry, you wouldn’t feel motivated to eat.
Understanding what ideas motivate you is vital to losing weight, because when you feel powerfully motivated, you will exercise consistently. NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a form of hypnosis. And there are NLP techniques that can trigger exercise motivation because, over time, desire to exercise for weight loss alone likely won’t be enough to keep you going. Exercise hypnosis motivation therapy can help.
Your first task is identifying the most important things in your life. We call these things your highly valued criteria. Highly valued criteria are typically intangibles: money wouldn’t be highly valued criteria, but the security, freedom or fun that money can provide would be.
Next, establish what you need to believe to feel highly motivated to exercise. It’s vital to bear in mind that logic has nothing to do with belief. Things do not have to be logical to believe them. You may find you already have a belief that goes against this new idea. That is okay.
While understanding what motivates us is valuable, hypnosis exercise motivation therapy can put these ideas to work by ensuring self motivation lasts. Hypnosis for motivation does this by changing the computer codes in your brain, so you believe ideas that motivate you.
Belief systems are based in our unconscious mind, which is like a computer. Computers do not have the capacity to reason. The input controls the output. The techniques used in exercise hypnosis motivation therapy can make you believe nearly anything, as long as you’re willing to believe.
You start by making an image in your mind’s eye that illustrates something you already believe, like, “I love my children.” Then you learn to calibrate the elements or ‘Submodalities’ of that mental belief picture.
Next, you make a mental picture that illustrates your motivational idea. Let’s say your motivational idea is, “If I exercise, then I will look great and my marriage will improve.” Then you learn how to alter the Submodalities of this mental image to correspond with the Submodalities in your calibrated belief picture. On the other hand, if a belief is holding you back, the same technique can change that belief to doubt.
Self-hypnosis for motivation that incorporates NLP can give you something of an internal personal trainer. Using an exercise hypnosis motivation program ensures that the passion you started with remains until reaching your objective, and then helps you maintain that objective.

Weight Loss Hypnosis: Can It Really Help? by Philip Smith
Hypnosis, the age old concept of will power in healing and treating has now been largely used in alternative medicines as a holistic approach in preventing illness while saying no to your bad habits. Hypnosis can really help people with many aspects of their life including weight loss, quitting smoking and many more.
Each year in USA atleast 10s of thousands of people pay a visit to the hypno therapist or purchases the hypnosis Cds & Mp3s for the greater reason of shedding off those ugly bulges. Hypnosis statistics can vary from study to study hence majority of those will indeed lose weight and of course there will be some who won’t lose any at all.
First let us understand what exactly weight loss hypnosis is all about. Hypnosis is not an exact science by any means. It is a holistic method of addressing your subconscious mind and altering it so that it can rule your conscious mind. In its original sense, hypnosis is a typical mental state which is stimulated by the process of hypnotic induction where a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions are used in controlling the state of the mind of the subject. The therapeutic use of hypnosis, in losing weight, now one of the latest trends of weight loss program is typically designed to help you in making peace with food so that food can no longer control you and your desire. Let face the reality, it is indeed the habit of overeating, compulsive eating habit and uncontrollable desire to eat, which increases your weight while making you obese. The weight loss hypnosis programs motivates the inner you in healing your own self image.
Let us be realistic here. You are not going to visit a hypno therapist or listen to an array of hypnosis MP3′s and wake up the next morning feeling 20 pounds lighter. That can never happen; weight loss hypnosis is indeed not magic. It’s likely has taken you months to put on and it’s surely going to take some time to shed it off.
With weight loss hypnosis, you’re certainly not on a diet as such and your subconscious mind will learn new “behaviors”. That is within no time you will start eating smaller portions of food instead of just “trying” to eat smaller portions and you will naturally start eating healthy diet instead of just trying it. With this new method of weight loss hypnosis you will indeed stop eating when you are full instead of eating more and more till you cant hold it anymore! Another good point is you will start looking forward to exercise. Sounds incredible Right? But these are all true and when you use weight loss hypnosis all of this is done without any effort on your part as hypno therapy changes your entire concept, like the way you eat and the way you feel about food. In a nutshell be it smoking hypnosis or the weight loss hypnosis, its all about a lifestyle change and just not a diet alteration.
Although its hard to believe yet hypnosis does work. Don’t you think weight loss hypnosis or smoking hypnosis would have been dismissed long ago as an option if it didn’t work? So the answer to the eternal question, “can hypnosis help with weight loss?” is a BIG YES! However, you still have to “want” to lose weight. The same is true for smoking or anything else. Feel free to use weight loss hypnosis or the smoking hypnosis as a tool to assist you in getting rid of your bad habits and you won’t go wrong!

Weight Loss Miracle – Hypnotherapy Plus The Ornish Diet by Alan B. Densky, CH
The Ornish Diet is a low-fat, all-vegetarian diet plan. Combining the nutrition plan, exercise, and stress-management techniques of this plan results in weight loss and improved health for most dieters. Although this plan takes more dedication than a lot of other diet plans, and often requires big lifestyle changes for the dieter, studies have shown that it is good for both losing weight and reversing heart disease. With its emphasis on managing stress and making healthy food choices, this diet is also an ideal candidate for use in conjunction with hypnosis.
The Ornish diet can be in one of two, slightly different formulations, a Reversal diet and a Preventative diet. The Reversal diet is formulated for people already suffering from heart disease who want to reverse the symptoms of the disease and reduce their risk of having heart attacks. The Preventative diet is excellent for people who want to lose weight and lower their chance of developing heart disease. It is also appropriate for dieters wanting to lower their cholesterol levels.
Both types of the Ornish diet recommend a diet plan that is composed of 10% fat, 20% protein, and 70% complex carbohydrates. Under the diet, all meat, fish, and poultry are avoided. All oils, seeds, nuts, and fats are also not allowed. Refined carbohydrate foods such as white rice and white flour are also not permitted, but whole grain bread and pasta, beans, and legumes are permitted.
Foods allowed in restricted portions include egg whites and fat free dairy products such as fat free milk, yogurt, and cheese. Most processed foods are banned, since any processed foods with over two grams of fat in one serving are not allowed.
The diet allows you to eat whole grains, beans, vegetables, and fruit at every meal until you feel full. The benefit of this program is that since you are permitted to consume as much as you want of permitted foods, you can feel full and satisfied all the time. This program, unlike some others, is not based on unsafe “starvation” techniques.
In addition to the diet plan, another essential component of the Ornish plan is stress-management. There are a wide range of stress-relieving practices you can use, such as yoga, meditation, and hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is ideal for relieving anxiety and tension while promoting natural weight loss. Hypnosis works by guiding your unconscious mind to having positive thoughts instead of negative ones when you start to get stressed. These techniques are very effective in promoting relaxation.
While the Ornish plan is healthy and works for most dieters, it can be challenging to follow because it has many restrictions. This diet and others similar to it often fail because dieters cannot stay on them. Many people struggle with dieting because they suffer from an out-of-control appetite, irresistible food cravings, compulsive overeating, or a simple lack of motivation to lose weight. These obstacles keep many hard-working dieters from maintaining their diet and achieving permanent weight loss. Hypnosis helps you overcome these obstacles, and is an excellent complement to the Ornish diet because it offers motivation to stay on a weight loss plan.
Hypnosis works to control and regulate the appetite by “reprogramming” the unconscious mind to eliminate and replace bad habits with good ones. Years of unhealthy eating habits such as “emotional eating” can cause people to eat impulsively, even when they are not hungry. Hypnosis breaks unhealthy associations with food and our feelings to eliminate this conditioned response and prevent emotional eating. Hypnosis can further influence dieting success by replacing the overeating response with another activity, such as exercise. This way, instead of getting urges to overeat, you will feel motivated to exercise for your health.
Hypnosis can also be used to quell the emotional anxieties that keep you from losing weight. For many people, being overweight provides a “secondary gain” in the form of a feeling of safety or emotional protection. For example, many people with low self-esteem fear people not liking them, so they use their extra weight as a reason to believe that other people will dislike them. Through hypnotherapy, we can think more positively and focus on having better health instead of feeling overwhelmed by such anxieties. We can use hypnotherapy to boost our self-esteem, placing more value on ourselves and our own health.
Hypnosis offers a strong, natural combination of stress-management, motivation, and behavior regulation to promote weight loss and help you follow your preferred diet plan. Using hypnosis with the Ornish plan is particularly effective, but hypnosis therapy is perfect for helping dieters stay on any weight loss plan. Hypnosis promotes the success of diet plans along with natural weight loss so dieters can enjoy long-lasting results.

Can A Hypnotist Help Me Solve My Insomnia? by Carol Bell
Experts tell us we need an average of eight hours sleep per night in order to function properly. As I lay in the darkness, night after night watching as the clock gradually ticks away the hours, the room slowly filling with light as night turns to day I wonder why I suffer from Insomnia and if I can solve the problem.
I have suffered from insomnia all of my life and have yet to find a cure or resolution of the problem. I am not depressed and do not suffer from any major problems or worries. I have tried medication; it doesn’t work and makes me irritable and snappy during the day. I have tried wearing myself out with long walks. I have cut coffee and alcohol from my diet but still lie in bed unable to sleep.
A while ago my doctor asked if I had tried or would consider going to a hypnotist, as hypnotherapy has been useful in the treatment of insomnia. Since Hypnosis originates from the Greek word, Hypnos, which means sleep I thought I would give it a try. After all it is one of the safest ways of curing insomnia and has been tried on children as young as seven with no ill effects.
At the hypnotists I sat in the chair feeling rather apprehensive I was not sure it would work. Perhaps I can’t be hypnotised. I listened as the voice droned on, then I heard him say, wake up. Yes it had worked. About twenty minutes had passed. I had been hypnotised. The hypnotist explained that during hypnosis or hypnotherapy you are taught relaxation techniques to get you to the theta state that is just before the sleep state delta. My sleep pattern should start to improve and hopefully eventually cured.
After my first session I am hopeful that hypnotherapy could be the solution to my problem. I feel more relaxed and not as tired and washed out during the day. No I’m not cured yet. I still lie in bed for hours trying to sleep but I can see an end to the problem.
If you suffer from chronic insomnia I think hypnosis is well worth a try. If are in the United Kingdom you can find a qualified hypnotist in your area from a list held by the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis. In America the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis holds a similar list.

Weight Loss Hypnosis Reviews
Hypnosis and Weight Loss by Donovan Baldwin
The problem with talking about hypnosis and weight loss, or hypnosis and many other things for that matter, is that there often are few, if any, studies on whose results you can hang your hat. In this world where it seems everything is studied from every different angle, it seems that the final conclusion is that hypnosis can help you lose weight…or not.
There are plenty of claims of success by the myriad of hypnotherapists of all kinds who have put up websites and gone into the “Hypnosis can cure…” business.
Actually, the problem is not even whether or not hypnosis can or cannot be a tool in a healthy weight loss program. That much, at least, is pretty well agreed upon. The question seems to be how to use it and how much effect it actually has on an individual’s weight loss.
That brings us to another factor. We are dealing with individuals, and individuals tend to react differently to the efforts of hypnotherapists in ANY attempt to produce a viable effect.
Most claims found for hypnotherapists on the internet, whether they are claiming that hypnosis is effective for weight loss or not (and most are) is that they ARE successful. Like many other things that can be effective and valuable in weight loss, or almost any other endeavor, the unknown fact is what does “effective” mean to these people and can they define “effective” in terms of so many successful outcomes in so many total attempts. This is the problem. There are no numbers, at least none that I could find.
However, many studies DO exist that show that hypnosis CAN be combined with other standard weight loss efforts to produce a better outcome. For example, it has long been known that changing eating habits and attitudes towards food can help with weight loss. It has been found that hypnosis, combined with behavior modification, tends to meet with greater success than behavior modification or attitude alteration alone. It seems that the hypnosis does what it often does best…it relaxes the subject, allows them to focus and concentrate, and helps them learn their lessons, if you will, more quickly and efficiently.
Bottom line? Hypnosis alone is not very likely to produce profound effects on weight loss. This is particularly true in light of many hypnotherapists’ claims that “only one session” will cause a massive, immediate, and continuous weight loss. If anything, for most people, hypnosis is simply one more weapon in an arsenal of weapons in the war against obesity. As always the main weapons will be regular physical activity and sensible eating habits.
Donovan Baldwin is a Texas writer. He is a University of West Florida alumnus, a member of Mensa, and is retired from the U. S. Army. He hosts a web page at http://nodiet4me.net/weightlossproducts/index.html with mini-reviews of weight loss programs and products.

When taking Up a Hypnosis Course, There is an Important Thing. by Manuel Wiggins..
In fact, the hypnosis course is funny and informative as well. Since days are nowadays bored and full of sadness, taking such a course will be useful as a way of changing.
The Hypnosis Course is a Serious Matter
Do not misunderstand the meaning of a hypnosis course. It is not a comedian act. We are talking here of a serious matter.
The basic aim of this course is to coach you how to hypnotize. In fact, the courses of hypnosis are different. You can select either, learn online, attend small groups or take a private lesson.
Reasons of Taking up a Course of Hypnosis
Good question. Some do it because they are intrigued with the idea of controlling other people’s minds. This may or may not be a good thing. If you want to help people deal with certain problems or issues (insomnia, confidence issues, past hurts etc) then good for you. That’s essentially what hypnotherapy and taking up a hypnosis course is about. If you want to learn hypnosis to make people think they are sticks of salami about to be devoured by a 50 foot gorilla, well, if it’s for a light comedy show that maintains respect for individuals and public accountability on your part, you’ll hear little objection from us.
You will be wrong if you consider master the others’ brains and behaviors through learning hypnosis. If it is the way, then, please do not attend the course!
Since hypnosis is a sensitive practice, it must learnt by caution. Avoid play on other’s minds. You should treat them with respect. You have to assist them passing their problems and find a good meaning in life. Ignoring others’ acts and minds will cause firing you from the course!
But if your goal is to help people, to provide them with an alternative path to healing and dealing with problems and pain, then you have a bright future ahead of you. A hypnosis course will certainly benefit you in terms of self-development and ultimately, it will help others as you put your learning into practice.
You have not to forget that hypnosis’ object is assisting humanity, and teaching them methods of treating messes and depression. If you inclined from that passage, you will loss along with!
Manuel Wiggins posts information and resources on his website about Hypnosis , and you can read more about Self Hypnosis

Hypnosis Training: Practice Makes Perfect by Dane Bergen
As with any skill, the more you practice, the better you become. It’s the same with hypnosis. If done incorrectly, hypnosis will not work. You must become skilled in the art of hypnosis before you can hope to put anyone in a relaxed enough state to actually communicate with their subconscious. Aside from learning hypnosis techniques, you must practice hypnosis if you ever hope to become an expert in the art of hypnosis. The best hypnosis training is done on your friends and family. This way, you can practice what you’ve learned on people who will forgive you if you make a mistake and won’t be angry because they paid for a service that you couldn’t complete.
School, Books Or The Internet
Hypnosis training can either be done in a classroom setting, such as at a hypnosis school, or it can be done by reading books or even by getting instructions over the internet. Hypnosis training involves using a soothing voice, some objects to make the person relax more, and even music and lighting to enhance the relaxed, hypnotized state. Other than that, you need hypnosis training to know what to tell the person once they’re in the hypnotized state. This message to their subconscious can be instructions to help them lose weight, quit smoking, be more assertive or just to become a better person. Hypnotism doesn’t work for everyone but with enough hypnosis training, you can become an expert in the art of hypnosis so that you can hopefully help as many people as possible.
If you are going to conduct your hypnosis training with friends and family, make sure that you take extreme care. Hypnosis is not a toy, it’s not something you should take lightly. When people are in a hypnotized state, they are very vulnerable to the message conveyed by the hypnotist. It’s through hypnosis that people can be instructed to do certain things they normally wouldn’t do while awake. This leaves much room for abuse and unethical practices.
