When Do I Need Hypnosis? by Mark Dodd
Have you seen this scene: A man is asked by someone to jump for ten times, crawl on the floor then roll over like a dog? Some have this in mind as the picture of hypnosis. Actually- it is not the truth. What is hypnosis then?
Hypnosis is, in fact, a natural state of heightened awareness, focused attention and, often, deep relaxation. This experience is called the alpha state”. In the alpha state” our brain wave frequency is slower than when awake, but faster than when we’re asleep. According to different academic studies, the old misconceptions are now eradicated and the fact that all forms of hypnosis are really self-hypnosis is now paving the way to deeper understanding.
For others, hypnosis is the exit to stress because it is a way of relaxation. According to experts, hypnosis depends on how the recipient accepts it- whether deep or shallow it depends on him or her.
Nowadays, hypnosis has brought wonders to a lot of people all over the world and it has been the source of all that could be relied on as solutions. Many who were able to accept hypnosis as a deep process were able to see for themselves the goodness behind it and the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hypnosis has solved problems involving one’s inner sense like: addiction especially today’s illegal substance addiction; it could also help out with one’s elf-acceptance and acceptance of others too. If your fears, lack of confidence, low motivation, success orientation are really bothering you, hypnosis may let you calm the storm inside you.
The skills that may have been not that active in you because of some reasons may be polished again through this method. So, if you think that you need help with regards to your leadership, learning skills, creativity, sports performance and so forth hypnosis may just be the one you have been looking for.
Health disorders could also be addressed with the use of hypnosis. Experts have proved that the power of hypnosis reach even the solutions of various health disorders like Fibromyalgia, headaches which are common with us, insomnia, high blood pressure and others.
The misconceptions about hypnosis are now near the exit door. Recent studies are now showing how hypnosis paves the way to better living. If done with the proper purpose, this would be a great means of healing naturally inside and out.

Playing Golf In The Zone – Part 2 by Roseanna Leaton
Just as people are scared of hypnosis, many are adept at avoiding mental issues in general. I mentioned earlier that I listen carefully to the words used by commentators. You might find it interesting to pay more attention to the particular words and phrases used as well. Nine times out of ten the commentary will focus on the mental side of the game. For example “What were you thinking there Tiger?” or “Can he keep this up?” and so on. There are far more comments made about the thought processes at play than the mechanics of the swing. We can relate to the comments made, we accept that they are generally accurate, and yet very few of us pay attention to this aspect of our own golf game. rnrnrnWe are far more likely to say, “I chunked that one” or “your head came up” than to get behind these actions and ask “why?” What was the thought process that caused that outcome? Were you committed to the golf shot or were you thinking “have I got the right club here?”? You will only be able to control your golf game when you learn to control your mind. You need to be aware of what you are thinking before you can change how you think. You also need to be aware of the optimal way in which to think and then you can choose to think in this way. rnrnrnIt’s amazing how many people aren’t even aware of what they are thinking. This may sound really silly. But to put what I’m saying into context, a Harvard University study found that the average person has 60,000 thoughts a day, and 59,500 are the same as the day before. Are you aware of the 60,000 thoughts you had yesterday? Or were some of them subconscious? And were a few of them repetitive? rnrnrnTry a little exercise if you like. Go to the range, or the chipping area, or the putting green and plan to spend five minutes in which you only think about what you are doing. See if you succeed in this plan…I bet you don’t! It’s difficult to control your thoughts even for five minutes let alone the three and a half hours it takes to play a round of golf. rnrnrnYou just aren’t going to control your thoughts for a full round of golf. But what you can do is control and consciously direct your thoughts for the few minutes which each golf shot takes, including your pre-shot and post-shot routines. And if you want to make this task easy for yourself you can employ a little bit of self-hypnosis. Remember the definition of hypnosis given before – “a state of relaxation, at one with a state of heightened awareness, induced by suggestion”. You can learn to relax and focus at will with the use of hypnosis. rnrnrnYou have the ability to control and direct your thoughts. There’s no point saying “but you know me, I always do that”. If you think like that, you WILL always be like that. Everything in life begins with a thought; every action is preceded by a thought. There’s no point in focusing on changing your actions and behaviors without first addressing your thoughts. rnrnrnWhy not spend a little bit of time in learning to how to control and direct your mind? You can learn how to relax and play golf in the zone with the help of hypnosis downloads. The professionals use golf hypnosis because it works; hypnosis downloads can be used to get you to focus clearly and to play in the zone. rnrnrnrnRoseanna Leaton, specialist in golf hypnosis cds and hypnosis mp3 downloads.rnrnrn

Successful Weight Loss Starts In Your Mind by Roseanna Leaton
What is it about weight loss that is so elusive? Obesity rates soar, so many people feel increasingly more uncomfortable, and yet something seems to keep stopping people from losing weight? Why is effective and long term weight loss such a difficult nut to crack for what would seem to be the majority of the population?
The irony to many is that they do not enjoy the food which they are consuming. They enjoy the idea of it, but do not even enjoy the experience of savoring it. For some a sign which indicates a large portion is an instant pull, for others it is a particular taste, be it chocolate or cheese. And a few just find that the idea of food, no matter what type, taste or size, is just a magnet to their soul.
The opposite is true as well about some types of food. You could have an aversion to oysters, vodka, or an entire type of food, perhaps seafood. These are just examples, of course. Such aversions are only rarely caused by an actual allergy to that type of food; rather, this aversion is based on experience. I mentioned vodka, because this alcoholic drink is often the one drunk by youngsters in the UK, and often abused and consumed to excess. Vodka seems to be most popular with the younger generation as it has so little taste. It’s therefore easy to drink and to get drunk upon.
When one gets drunk, one can have a very unpleasant experience, feeling sick, getting sick, and more and more frequently these days ending up in the care of the emergency services. With such a highly emotional experience it is very easy for one’s mind to record this as something bad and in effect to “red flag” it and create a subsequent aversion to the cause – vodka. As my partner just commented, it’s a shame that alcohol in general is not red flagged!
Your mind has the ability to make both positive and negative associations with specific types of food and alcohol, and more generalized categories of edible items, some of which you will be aware of the root cause and some of which you will not be aware of. These associations are very rarely based on taste and certainly not upon pure hunger. They are based instead on emotional connections due to one’s experiences and observations.
Have you analyzed your feelings about food? Do you enjoy the taste and texture, the sight, the sensation of crunchiness or smoothness in your mouth? Do you see how long you can savor each taste for, or just gulp down each spoonful without full awareness? Do you take time to place your knife and fork down upon the table and become aware of how your tummy feels? Have you worked out what eating excess food does for you in a positive way, or is it merely habit?
Apply these questions to alcohol as well as to food, seeing as both involve calorific intake. Why do you drink vodka instead of Gin, and so on? And why do you have just one glass, or two, or a bottle? Is it taste, or perhaps environment, or just pure habit?
Everyone is different; everyone lives in accordance with their own experiences and expectations of life. There are also cultural influences upon what, when and how we eat. “Why” is a great question to ask in order to get to the root of any habit which you are the subject of. If you habitually eat too much, then ask yourself “why?” If you habitually have a sweet tooth then ask yourself “why?” And listen internally to the first answer which pops into your mind, and ask “why” once againâand so on. This, to most, is an extremely enlightening experience.
The next question to ask is “what can I do in order to change?” This, of course, assumes that you do indeed want to change. And this can be the crux of the matter. Perhaps you feel more comfortable being a few pounds overweight, either consciously or subconsciously. Perhaps it is “safer” or more “normal” to be overweight. For so many people, an inner conflict is experienced over the desire to have the perfect weight versus the desire to “fit in”. And this desire to “fit in” can be a fitting in with one’s perception of themselves or a fitting in with how they see their immediate environment. Culture and personal expectations are intertwined and unless you keep asking yourself “why” you will not get to the root of your own pathway to successful weight loss.
At the end of the day, no matter what answers you come up with, a certain amount of mind retraining is needed in order to change. It is acknowledged (and proven) that 90% of success in sport is rooted in one’s mind. This equation is reflective of the success of almost anything in life. And effective weight loss is no exception. 90% of successful, long term, effective weight loss and subsequent balance is in your MIND.
You have to get your mind working for you to enable weight loss. And this is in fact very easy with the help of hypnosis weight loss downloads. Why hypnosis, you may ask? Because hypnosis is a state of relaxation which allows access to the inner workings of your mind, your subconscious mind. You can therefore retrain your mind by removing old assumptions and associations about food (or alcohol) and create new links in your mind which lead to being slim and healthy. By creating new positive links in your subconscious mind these become just as automatic as those old associations.
Hypnosis weight loss downloads are available instantly in your own home and they are inexpensive. They are amazingly effective, and will allow you to imagine yourself in a slim new way. You will see yourself in a new light, with new eyes, from a new perspective, and this is the only way in which you will lose weight effectively. Diets alone simply do not work – they only tackle 10% of the issue. You mind deals with the other 90% of you successful weight loss program.

Does Hypnosis Work
Does Hypnosis Work
Hypnosis: Is it Hype or Can It Really Help? by Eamon Greville
Many people coming to the subject of hypnosis for the first time could be forgiven for being extremely confused. People tend to have many fear and misconceptions: the swinging pendulum, the maverick controlling presenter with the mysterious accent, the hypnotised person running around on the stage clucking like a chicken.
However, many people do swear by the potential of hypnosis and its use in hypnotherapy for often life changing experiences stopping smoking, losing weight, increasing self-confidence, removing phobias etc.
So is Hypnosis hype or can it really help?
* What is Hypnosis?
It is in essence, deep relaxation coupled with visualisation: it is not some mysterious state in which you are completely at the mercy of the hypnotist.
Whilst hypnotized, you retain your awareness, but your body becomes extremely relaxed and disinclined to move. Your attention becomes increasingly narrow, your thinking tends to become literal and you become much more open to suggestion than you would be in a non-hypnotic state. This very suggestibility is what makes hypnosis work.
* How can it be applied?
During the course of our lives, we may often want to change things about ourselves our habits, our reactions to stressful circumstances, our tendency to worry, our inability to sleep. Unfortunately however, merely telling ourselves ‘Stop that’ or ‘Just don’t worry’ doesn’t often work.
Hypnosis, which is a state similar to sleep, uses the body’s ability to react to the mind by directing the mind in specific ways whilst the body is relaxed. That’s all there is to it
* The role of Hypnotherapy
We have so much to do and are caught up in patterns of thought and behaviour. Our minds are uncontrolled and often racing, we are tense and distracted. All these things can keep us from doing what we know we should do, such as losing weight, stopping smoking, and dealing with that fear or phobia.
Hypnotherapy is the practical use of hypnosis by a trained therapist to, for example help the patient recover from a trauma of a past event, reframe negative health habits or to retain control over certain behavior.
Hypnotherapy is frequently used to help people stop smoking or over eating. It is a common therapy for people experiencing common fatigue. It is also effective for improving self-esteem and confidence.
To help separate the hype from the myth it is essential to find out the truth about hypnosis what it can and can’t do. Also, to locate a high quality practitioner or training so that it is applied safely and effectively (including self hypnosis).)
It is truly a wonderful tool so do take the time to find out more about its potential
Hypnosis is a brilliant tool for making improvements in your life. For more tips on how to use hypnosis to improve your life head over to:

3 Easy Steps to Control Emotional Eating and Lose Weight Quickly by Ian Barclay
Emotional eating is one of the main reasons for weight gain. Identify and control your emotional eating and you will enjoy permanent weight loss.
It is important to address the reason for your weight gain in the first place. This is the reason why so many conventional and fad diets fail, because they take the food intake away and reduce the calories, but they do not identify and deal with the causes of the weight gain.
Because of this you should change the way you view weight loss entirely. Forget looking for a quick fix solution or fad diet, yes you can enjoy rapid results, but this is not a healthy way to address weight loss. Sadly the end result is that one to two thirds of people end up gaining not only the weight they lost, but also more, known as yo-yo dieting.
Ask yourself this;
Do you eat when you are only physically hungry?
The chances are, like most people, you don’t. It is very likely that you associate food with certain emotions and eat when you are emotionally hungry as well.
Do you make psychological associations to food?
People make psychological associations, often without realising it, and will connect an emotional feeling with an object or food.
During periods of emotional excess, such as boredom, anger, frustration, sadness and feeling upset, we crave to be comforted and so often this craving is for food.
People who associate these emotions with food will often eat something, even though they are not physically hungry, to gain the feeling of comfort.
Step one: Identify your own emotional triggers.
Identify your emotional triggers and what food you associate with them to gain comfort.
For example, when you are feeling bored you may head to the freezer and treat yourself to a bowl of double choc chip ice cream.
Or perhaps when you are upset about something maybe you tend to tuck into a box of chocolates or cheese cake.
As you go through this process you will identify your excess eating and what triggers you to eat in this way. You’ll possibly find that you didn’t even realise you were doing it!
Step two: Control your emotional triggers
Once you have identified your emotional triggers to food you need to bring those emotional triggers under control.
So how can I control my emotional eating?
The power of suggestion and the power of the mind will help you overcome your food cravings naturally, effortlessly changing the way you think about your relationship with food for the rest of your life.
One of the most popular ways to engage the power of the mind is to use a hypnosis CD/DVD. Used daily, they will help you reshape the way you think about food and will help you to eliminate your food cravings. This will enable you to gain effortless control of your eating habits forever and you will have no trouble in maintaining weight loss motivation.
Step three: Introduce an exercise programme into your daily schedule.
You can get going and create a more active lifestyle by using one of the many exercise DVD’s available on the market today. There really is no need to slug it out down the gym if you don’t want to.
There are many exercise DVD’s available covering all types of exercise, from specialised exercise such as yoga, Tai chi and Pilates, right through to beginners exercises that you can do at home without any expensive or specialised equipment.
You could also take a 30 minute brisk walk each day and even do more gardening to become more active too.
Exercise will enable you to tone and strengthen your body, burn fat and increase your lean body mass. Because muscle burns more calories your metabolism is naturally increased.
Conclusion
By taking these three steps to lose weight you will enjoy quick but permanent weight loss. By identifying your emotional triggers you can gain effortless control of your eating habits by using the power of your mind. You will never again return to yo-yo dieting.
Importantly, you will not need to starve or deprive yourself of your favourite foods. After all, one reason why traditional diets fail is because they often involve depriving yourself of your favourite foods, often for long periods of time.
Deprivation becomes monotonous in your mind and leads to cravings for your favourite foods. Inevitably this craving will lead to a binge and a breaking of the diet.
This is the reason why so many people who have used traditional and fad diet methods regain all, and often more, of the initial weight lost. Take control of your emotional triggers now and you won’t be one of them!

The Truth about Hypnosis by Joseph Then
What is Hypnosis? In short, Hypnosis is simply a natural state of mind. Everyone has felt the state of mind at one time or another. Hypnosis is pretty much like meditation. Many of us will fall into such natural state without even knowing it.
For example, have you ever been in deep thoughts while driving from work back to home and you didn’t even realised that you are driving? The reason is that when you are in a certain state of mind, your subconscious takes over the driving while you are using your conscious mind to mull over a subject. However, your subconscious mind did not take over the conscious mind.
It is also interesting to note that in Hypnosis (or a certain state of mind), a person’s subconscious can take over the conscious mind. Ever noticed that a hypnotized person will do the strangest things? The reason is that when your subconscious mind takes over your conscious mind you are full of imagination and you can be implusive. You will react automatically to any suggestion. That’s why you will see someone do something very strange while under a trance.
However, note that only a small percent of people are truly able to be hypnotized. Futhermoe, this only refers to hypnotizing at a deep state. Practically speaking, anyone can be affected by hypnosis, but they can only go under a little. It is estimated that 15% of all the people around the world can be hypnotized to go into a deep state. In a deep state, you are able to uncover secrets that were buried and you can also unlock many hidden things that lurk in the mind of another.
It in interesting to note that lying above the deep state is called a trance state.
You may also ask: What is a trance state? A trance is the most important part of hypnosis. It described as a mental state between consciousness and unconsciousness: You are not a sleep, but you are not fully awake either. A trance state can be induced by your own intrigue to a movie or book. It can be induced by a person. Most people are not able to go into a deep state, but everyone is able to go into a trance state once a while
To learn more about Hypnosis, you can read up various good books on Hypnosis. Many of these books are written by those who have practiced the Hypnosis technique for years, but some are written on theory and not practice. It is important to know that when it comes to practicing hypnosis, you should only do it under the supervision of a practiced or a licensed person. Remember that the mind is not something that should be messed with.

How to Cope With Being Made Redundant by Roseanna Leaton
Being made redundant is not just about money and what money can buy. It is often the psychological effect which takes the biggest toll. One moment you know who you are and what you do and what you mean to other people, and then in a flash it can feel as if you are nobody.
Who are you now? What do you do with your time? Who needs you or values you? Your own sense of self is inevitably tied up with your job; it is one of your major roles in life. You spend more waking hours at work than you do at home. Many people discover that it was their job which defined to them who they are – or rather, who they were.
In facing redundancy, you as a person feel redundant; you feel unwanted, unloved and worthless. For a while you may feel angry and fight against the unfairness of business in the modern day. But once that anger wears off you can be left with this feeling of being lost. You have lost your sense of purpose and achievement, but more than all of that the thing which hurts the most is the loss of your very sense of self.
If you are lucky you will have a strong and supportive family environment and so at least you know that one part of your life is still ok; you know that you are loved, valued and respected at home. You are still the well loved mum or dad, brother or sister, son or daughter. You maintain that identity and this helps you to retain a partial sense of who you are.
But this is not the case for some unlucky people who are being made redundant and who do not have that support. This makes redundancy doubly hard to bear. The feeling of being alone is not one which humans relish. It is important to remain, or to become, as involved as possible with groups of supportive people; you have to make the effort to do this, otherwise you will withdraw into a shell and your world will become a very small place indeed.
Sometimes it is difficult to step out and involve yourself with others; in fact, this will always be the case to someone who is struggling with a loss of their own identity. As confidence plummets it becomes more difficult to mix with others. Thus the most important thing of all when being made redundant is to do whatever is in your power to maintain and build your confidence.
You will often find that your own thoughts are sabotaging your confidence; you can hear your own inner voice telling yourself that you are worthless, or no good, or that it is not worth the effort. It is absolutely essential that you stamp down upon this depreciating voice, and replace it with a soothing and encouraging dialogue which will empower you to move on and rise to better things.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. This may well be your opportunity to build your own confidence, to discover who you really are and to move on to your real and true purpose in life. Every cloud does have a silver lining, so long as you allow yourself to see it. You will only open your eyes to see a shimmer of silver by opening your ears and your mind to encouraging thoughts.
Hypnosis mp3s are enormously beneficial at such a time to build your confidence back to where it should be. If you cannot think of something encouraging yourself, you can at the very least listen to another’s voice telling you that you are valued, important and worthy of happiness and success. Even if your conscious mind is tempted to disbelieve these things, with hypnosis your subconscious mind will be listening and absorbing this encouragement instinctively and automatically.
Hypnosis allows access to your inner mind, to your deeper beliefs and so it makes it far quicker and easier to build your confidence and feel optimistic about the future after being made redundant.

Hypnosis Weight Loss
Hypnosis Weight Loss
Weight Loss Can Be A Very Simple Thing by
Shedding extra pounds and maintaining a healthy weight is not that difficult. It all comes down to healthy eating habits. More importantly, it’s a committment to make a change in your life. Here are some helpful tips that can help you in your weight loss and new health efforts.
Make a commitment to change.
Saying it and doing it are two different things. That’s why the majority of people don’t follow their new diets, because the solid commitment to make a difference is not there. Say it to yourself daily, write it down, live it and believe it. Only this way can your commitment to lose weight and becoming healthier be as solid and as serious as you want it to be.
Make sure your goals are realistic.
Set goals you must work for but ones that are reachable. Understand you are looking for long term results. Break down your main goal into smaller ones. Go after each small one, one at a time. It’s much more effective to go about losing a few pounds a month, then to go about thinking of losing all the weight you want at once.
Adjust your meal size.
Most of the time, people eat way more than they actually should. Most restaurants serve plates for one person that could literally feed two people. If you want to lose weight, eat less. You need to eat to calm your hunger, nothing more. This over time, you will get used to the smaller portions and your stomach will as well.
Make fruits and vegetables a larger part of your diet.
Drop the roll and butter, fried cheese or chips. Add raw vegetables and low fat ranch dressing as a snack. Forget french fries and have a fresh salad with lunch. Add a serving at dinner. Use fresh fruit cut up for desserts. Not only are these healthier for you but used as simple substitutions, they will help you drop more weight in one year than you can imagine.
Savor your food.
When you eat do it slowly. Relax, take you time, savor the flavors and enjoy each bite. It takes a
certain amount of time for your brain to become aware that your stomach is full. Therefore, if you take your time, you will end up eating less, another important point to losing weight.
Despite the ideas from the media that losing weight is hard and a life-long challenge, the reality is, it does not have to be that way. Follow these simple ideas and see how much you lose a year from now.

The process of hypnosis is delving into the deep recesses of your mind. It is stepping into your subconscious mind, where body processes and behaviour were unconsciously governed. Using hypnosis for weight loss is addressing the issues of your body appearance as well as weight but without your conscious consent. This is because of the big possibility that your subconscious mind hinders you from losing weight or from keeping you from losing weight permanently. Your subconscious might think that dieting, fasting or exercising is bad for you. Thus, no matter how much effort you put in it and your subconscious won’t allow it, you will always end up gaining more weight and failing in your dieting and exercising.

In this stage, your hypnotist could give you specific suggestions. These suggestions would either be these illustrations. You no longer find it desirable to eat sweets and chocolates anymore. You would hate eating processed foods but instead would like to eat whole, unprocessed, and healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. You would not eat more than your stomach could swallow. If you felt full, you would stop eating and wouldn’t regret not eating your leftovers. When you are depressed and sad, you would eat fruits instead of chocolates and ice cream. You would now want to exercise daily. You would find the pain of exercising a welcome comfort. You would have a healthy habit of looking forward to exercising and you wouldn’t find it difficult to maintain your exercising regimen. All of these suggestions could effectively give you permanent thought patterns that could greatly contribute to losing your extra weight.
There are a lot of suggestions that your hypnotist could use. Just discuss what you want with him/her so that you could effectively achieve what you want. Thus, with hypnosis for weight loss, it is one of the painless and permanent ways of helping you lose your extra weight.

Change Your Mind to Change Your Life: Harness the Power of Your Brain to Lose Weight. by Katie Evans
Your subconscious mind has its own unique way of perceiving the world. What is really happening around you is less significant than your perception of what is happening. Your perception is your reality.
For example, if five people see a car accident, they will report five different versions of what happened. If they all take a polygraph test, they will all pass it. In their own minds they are telling the absolute truth. The truth is their perception of external events.
Here is another illustration of the subconscious’ truth: Imagine that there is a 40 year old, 5’2″ 200 pound women who diets down to her ideal weight of 120 pounds. She looks great, feels great, and outwardly everything is as it should be. However, there is a major problem: The image in the mirror doesn’t match the image in her mind. Almost invariably what must change is the image in the mirror. One day, for no apparent reason, she will eat when she’s not hungry and think to herself, “Why am I doing this. I can’t seem to stop myself.” And she really can’t. The answer to this dilemma is in the descriptions of the psychological concepts of “cognitive dissonance” and “cognitive consonance”.
The brain has two equally important paramount functions: Survival and maintenance of sanity. When your subconscious internal picture differs from your external picture, a discrepancy called “cognitive dissonance” occurs. It is the belief of your subconscious that this discrepancy could cause insanity. Your subconscious mind will solve your problems for you, whether or not you perceive a problem, the best way it knows how in the absence of instruction from you. The brain’s most common solution is to change the image in the mirror (because remember, the image in your brain is “the truth”). Your subconscious will drive you to eat to restore and maintain your internal picture of yourself.
The way to get your subconscious mind on board to help you lose weight and keep it off is to immediately begin to change the picture you hold of yourself in your mind.
Put up pictures of yourself of your ideal weight in your environment: Your home, work place, car . . .wherever you spend time. If you don’t have pictures of yourself looking good, just cut some from magazines and put those up.
Spend a few moments before you go to sleep each night imagining your ideal body and do the same first thing in the morning before you get up.
These easy exercises will help you eat less and move more in the process of changing your body to match the true picture of yourself that you hold in your mind.

Job Security is Hypnotic by Celeste Hackett
There may be some debate on whether the worst of this current economic recession is over, but there is consensus amongst economists that the national unemployment rate will still continue to rise for rest of 2009. Currently, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 9.7 % of the Labor Force in the United States is out of, or seeking employment.
With statistics like that, it should come as no surprise that College students rank job security as their number-two priority for their careers, behind opportunity for advancement according to a survey by the National Association of College Employers. The survey was recently quoted in a fascinating feature on Kiplinger.com entitled “Recession Proof Careers”.
Even in areas of the country usually immune to economic fluctuations, such as Houston Texas, the harsh realities of the current situation are being recognized. According to the Houston Business Journal (July 17th) the Houston metro area’s unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) jumped to 8 percent after 36,200 people joined the civilian labor force. That compares to 6.9 percent unemployment in May and 5 percent unemployment in June 2008.
One of the sad facts of the new reality economy is that “job security” is a double edged sword. As business’ and corporations restructure and cut back to run a leaner business model many workers who prize security are being squeezed inadvertently and sometimes deliberately by unscrupulous bosses to “do more, with less, and for less”. In other words, one worker does the job of two or three other people just so they can keep their job.
The challenges for those entering the job market, either for the first time or as the result of being laid off are sobering. The key to achieving security may be not to enter the job market at all, but to actually think and act outside of the corporate/business box. “Just don’t play their game; play the way you want to play with the rules you make up.”
Says Celeste Hackett, a Board Certified Hypnotist, business entrepreneur and owner of a new State Licensed career school in Texas for Hypnotists.
Celeste goes on to say – “Seek out careers with stable prospects in both good economic times and bad. Careers that can’t be outsourced to a foreign land, careers that aren’t dependant on consumer spending habits and most importantly careers not held hostage to a single industry or a Wall Street financial report.” Ms. Hackett reports a recent surge of interest from potential students wanting to control their own destinies away from corporate oversight.
The majority of potential students enrolling in Celeste Hackett’s classes are coming from larger metro areas such as Houston, Austin, and San Antonio where there have been recent growing unemployment numbers. “People recognize the fact that they may have to drive to Dallas to receive the best hypnosis training in Texas from a State Licensed Career School. They consider that a small price to pay for the opportunity to be their own boss in a business with low start-up costs and unlimited possibilities” she adds.
Most experts agree that one of the few growing industries in the future will be Health Care, due to the aging of the demographics of the United States. However, with the possibility of turmoil in the Health Care Industry due to federally mandated rules, regulations, rising costs and possibly even direct federal intervention and control, the once rosy future of healthcare is looking a little under the weather.
Once again Celeste Hackett has seen evidence that her industry, Hypnosis and Hypnosis Education, may be on the cutting edge of those seeking career stability and freedom from corporate cost cutting even within the once stable health care industry. “In a recent class”, she says. “I had a student who happened to be a Registered Nurse. She was attracted to becoming a Certified Hypnotist for the opportunities it afforded for independence from draconian health care corporations, insensitive insurance companies and cold blooded CFO’s”.
“It’s not just the medical profession that’s waking up to Hypnosis,” says Celeste. “It’s a broad spectrum of people across the world looking for effective results and resolutions to their problems in a quick, relatively inexpensive way. Let your subconscious help solve your problems, after all, it’s the place where most of your problems began!
“Being a Certified Hypnotist allows you the freedom to start your own business at a low start up cost, set your own hours and frees you from corporate control. It gives you the opportunity to be in control of your own destiny” she adds. “The human condition, in good economic times and bad does not change, people will always be looking to lose weight, stop smoking, understand their emotions and enhance their lives with better habits and behaviors. They will always be willing to pay for that type of help. Hypnotists help people.”
Ms. Hackett is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the largest and oldest educational corporation for hypnotists founded in Boston, MA in 1951. Ms Hackett also is the owner of Family First Hypnosis in Plano where she sees up to 20 clients per week. Family First Hypnosis has been in operation since 2006 and sees a variety of issues such as Stop Smoking, Weight Loss, as well as many other behavioral problems. The hypnotist also receives referrals from doctors and psychologists for issues such as phobias, depression and chronic anxiety. She is board certified by the NGH and is also a Certified Professional Hypnosis Instructor.
“My students learn to work with a variety of issues and do real hypnosis that really works” says Celeste. Classes are scheduled throughout the year with the next one in September 2009. Tuition is offered at an introductory price of $1995, but discounts are available for early registration.

Does Hypnosis Really Work
Does Hypnosis Really Work
Does Hypnosis Work? by Richard MacKenzie
Working as a Hypnotherapist is very rewarding as you get the privilege of working with people that want to achieve amazing success in their lives. In fact there is never really a day that I get out of bed and think ‘oh no another boring day at work’ as each and every day brings many more new clients and many more new challenges that always keeps me on my toes! Many people also find my job fascinating and I am never short of anything to say when I am with friends or meeting new people as that age old question always rises about what I do! Actually someone asked it me just last night ‘That hypnosis thing? Does it really work?’ I always laugh at this point and say ‘of course not, don’t be so ridiculous!’
Of course I am having a little joke with them in my reply. It still amazes me that people still don’t actually believe that Hypnosis can work. Are you a sceptic? Are you one of these people that still believes that it sounds ‘too good to be true’? Well if you are then it might be time that you woke up and smelt the coffee as you just might be missing out on something that you really need to give you the results that you want in your life. Listen to this Hypnosis has been scientifically proven to both exist and work! Don’t believe me? Google it and you will find loads of research and evidence to suggest that Hypnosis doesn’t belong in the land of fairytales and magic shows, but is actually a viable option to get you the life that you want and to help you to attain the things that you want to have.
One question I always ask my clients is ‘what would you achieve if nothing was impossible?’ The reason that I ask this is because as we grow into adulthood we stop using our ability to set high ambitions like we did as kids and we start to create limitations and reasons why we cant achieve certain things. We actually begin to decide whether something is impossible or not that’s right we actually set the limit on what is impossible!
As I said Hypnosis is a viable option to achieve your goals. So I want to ask you the question – what would you achieve if nothing was impossible? Would you quit smoking, lose weight, get more confidence, make more money, improve your relationship or deal with that stress? These are all things that people regularly use Hypnosis for actually, I worked with clients on all of these issues just in the past week.
The bottom line: Hypnosis works! Isn’t it time that you started to find out more information about how you can use it to improve your own life? You owe it to yourself!

Sleepwalking by michael russell
There is no magic switch between wakefulness and sleep,” says Mark Mahowald, M.D., president of the American Sleep Disorders Association and director of the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. “People are awake enough to exhibit extremely complex motor behaviors but are not conscious of them and don’t remember them in the morning. Most of us have answered the phone in the middle of the night, talked coherently, went back to sleep, and, in the morning, didn’t remember it at all. So, there’s a little bit of sleepwalking in all of us.”
Sleepwalking is very common, occurring in up to 30 percent of healthy children, 5 percent of whom have frequent episodes. It also occurs in one to three percent of adults. The behaviors of sleepwalkers may range from walking in to the kitchen to make a sandwich to walking outside barefoot in the snow or trying to drive a car. “The most important thing to remember is that these are normal phenomena and do not represent any serious psychological problems,” says Mahowald.
When should sleepwalkers seek medical help? Probably when the episodes provoke fear or concern in those around them, or if the sleepwalkers are putting themselves in danger during their late-night excursions, experts agree. A good sleep specialist or family physician may be able to prescribe medications or other therapies that can decrease the frequency of sleepwalking or stop it altogether. If the sleepwalking is mild, however, read on. The following tips may help.
Maintain a Regular Sleep-Wake Schedule : “If you are very sleepy when you go to bed, your chances of sleepwalking may be greater,” says Lee J. Brooks, M.D., assistant professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals of Cleveland. “Regular bedtimes and regular awakenings could help.” Overtired children are also notorious for sleepwalking.
Make Sure The Environment is Safe : One important guideline is to make sure that there is nothing dangerous in a sleepwalker’s path, says Brooks. “That means making sure that the person doesn’t have the opportunity to jump out of windows,” he says. “If it is a young child, you probably want to place a gate in front of the stairs and safety locks on the windows. You can buy products from the hardware store that allow you to open the window a small amount, but which will prevent somebody from jumping out. Make sure knives are not kept out. Don’t let a sleepwalking child sleep on the top bunk of a bunk bed. Different people are more severe than others. You need to judge the individual as to what lengths to go to.” Other safety tips include placing locks high on doors, keeping clutter off of floors and stairs to prevent the possibility of tripping. and moving tables, nightstands, and other furniture out of the path to the bedroom door.
Don’t Drink Alcohol : Alcohol fragments sleep, making it less sound than normal, according to Mahowald. In adolescents and adults, this fragmentation can also trigger sleepwalking, he says.
Empty your Bladder Before Retiring : Since sleepwalking is usually triggered by a partial arousal from sleep, try to eliminate all possible disturbances. At the top of the list is a full bladder. “Some people think that a full bladder can precipitate sleepwalking in a susceptible patient,” Brooks says. It’s also wise to limit nighttime fluid intake.
Treat a Cough : Fever, coughs, and sneezing can all bring on sleepwalking by partially awakening the sleeper, according to Mahowald. Treating ailments with over the counter medications before bedtime may help to prevent a sleepwalking episode.
Check Your Medications : Certain medications, such as lithium and benzodiazepines or other hypnotics, can precipitate sleepwalking in people who are predisposed to nighttime rambling, according to Brooks. If you suspect that a drug is causing your problem, he suggests calling your doctor.
Learn Self-Hypnosis : “Hypnosis can be helpful for mild cases of sleepwalking,” says Mahowald. “Not in-depth hypnotherapy, but self-hypnosis or relaxation that can be taught in one or two visits to an experienced medical hypnotherapist.”
Guide The Sleeper Back to Bed : If you notice someone in your household sleepily ambling around, take them by the elbow and gently guide them back to bed, says Brooks. At the same time, whisper reassuringly in to the sleeper’s ear. Chances are, they’ll allow them selves to be easily led and will quickly return to sleep.
Don’t Touch The Sleeper if he or She Seems Agitated : “If a sleepwalker seems agitated, don’t attempt to touch him or try to lead him back to bed,” says Richard Ferber, M.D., director of the Center for Pediatric Sleep Disorders at Children’s Hospital, Boston, and assistant professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Touching an upset sleepwalker may cause him or her to flail out violently, putting you in danger.
Give The Sleeper Some Space : If you are unable to lead a sleepwalker peaceably back to bed, back off and give them room to do their thing, says Ferber. If they appear to be in danger, move objects out of their path or redirect them, he advises. “If they are hot and bothered and are about to fall down stairs, do something about it,” he suggests. “If they are feeling their way along the wall, talking in an upset way, you can also try to talk to them quietly and calm them down.”
Keep it Quiet : Any nighttime disturbances can propel a sleepwalker into a state halfway between sleeping and waking, according to Brooks. Keep :he household as quiet as possible, eliminating any unnecessary noise. If your home is extremely noisy, say due to proximity to an airport or railroad track, earplugs can offer welcome relief.
Put a Bell on The Bedroom Door : It is probably dangerous to allow a young child to wander around the house unattended (especially if there are stairs), says Ferber. His advice is to put a bell on the bedroom door that will ring when the door is opened, to alert you that the sleepwalker is up and about.
Wait it Out : “It’s important to remember that sleepwalking, especially in children, improves with time and does not represent any serious psychological problems,” says Brooks. He recommends seeing a doctor if the episodes provoke concern or pose the threat of an injury to the sleepwalker or other household member.

Hypnosis – The Simple Truth Revealed by Alan B. Densky
THE DEFINITION OF HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is a state of hyper-suggestibility where the conscious and subconscious (unconscious) minds dissociate. It is a state of mind where the subject is more likely to accept the operator’s suggestions.
You have been in hypnosis many times without even realizing it. If you have ever watched a sad T.V. show and reacted with a tear in your eye, you have been hypnotized by the television. You entered a state of increased suggestibility where you uncritically accepted the suggestion of sadness on the TV screen and reacted with a sad emotion, your tear. In other words your reasoning ability, which is contained in your conscious mind, was bypassed. You did not reason that the show was just a play; you accepted the action as being real. So you reacted with real emotion.
WHO CAN BE HYPNOTIZED?
It has been found that all normal people are hypnotizable to a greater or lesser extent. People with less than a 70 I.Q., those of the moron level or lower, generally are not hypnotizable. People who are in an active state of psychosis generally are not hypnotizable. Most senile people are difficult or impossible to hypnotize. I have found in my own private practice dealing with a large number of retired people as old as 85 years of age, that hypnosis is a potent and beneficial method for most people. The person’s motivation is the key to success.
DO I HAVE TO BE A “DEEP” SUBJECT FOR SUCCESS?
For the therapeutic applications of hypnosis we most often deal with, depth of any kind is not required. You can be the lightest possible subject and still receive all of the benefits from hypnosis that the deepest subjects will obtain. I strongly feel that over the years, far too much importance has been placed on how deep a subject is. If the subject is deep, it could be beneficial. This however, is not necessarily the case.
Actually, with the latest hypnotic techniques like Ericksonian Hypnosis and state of the art “NLP” (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), depth is one of the least important aspects, which contribute to success.
ARE THERE ANY DANGERS IN HYPNOSIS AND SELF-HYPNOSIS?
There are basically no dangers to the practice of self hypnosis. It is impossible to “get stuck” in hypnosis. The worst thing that could possibly happen while a subject is in hypnosis is that she might fall into a natural state of sleep for 20 or 30 minutes. She would awaken rested and out of the state of hypnosis.
MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT HYPNOSIS
There are many misconceptions about hypnosis. Most of them are due to the stage and television acts. Ironically, it is because of the fact that the television can hypnotize you that these misconceptions are so strongly entrenched in people’s mind.
IS HYPNOSIS SLEEP?
The largest misconception about hypnosis is that it is sleep. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you are asleep, you are unconscious. If you are unconscious, you cannot hear anything. If you cannot hear anything, then the hypnotist cannot help you.
Hypnosis is a state of keen awareness. The subject is wide-awake and aware of everything around her. This misconception stems from the stage hypnotist’s use of the word “sleep” as analogous to the hypnotic state. When the old time hypnotist swung the watch in front of the subject’s face, he told the subject that she was getting “sleepy.” He then told the subject to go to sleep. What he meant was to go into a hypnotic sleep; not a natural sleep.
IS THERE A HYPNOTIZED FEELING?
The second largest misconception is that there is a hypnotized feeling. There is no hypnotized feeling. I repeat, there is no hypnotized feeling. Most people feel very relaxed when in hypnosis, as relaxation seems to be the essence of hypnosis. Some people feel heavy. Some people feel light. Some people have other sensations and feelings. Other people have absolutely no feeling that they are in hypnosis, and believe they have not been hypnotized when they most definitely have.
CAN THE HYPNOTIST CONTROL ME?
NO! The hypnotist cannot make you do anything against your will. There is always an observing ego state. Should the hypnotist make an offensive suggestion; this ego state would reject the suggestion. You will probably come out of hypnosis if the hypnotist makes an offensive suggestion.
CAN THE HYPNOTIST MAKE ME DIVULGE MY SECRETS?
You will not divulge any secrets while in hypnosis unless you want to do so. The hypnotist does not have any control over the subject. Quite the contrary, the subject has more control over herself since at this time she has control over her own subconscious mind. The subject can easily reject any suggestion the hypnotist makes, no matter how simple or complicated the suggestion might be. The subject can open her eyes, emerge from the state of hypnosis, and walk out of the room at any time she chooses.
MUST PEOPLE TELL THE TRUTH WHEN IN HYPNOSIS?
NO! People can lie when in hypnosis.
DO HYPNOTISTS HAVE SPECIAL POWERS AND VIBRATIONS?
This is a common misconception. The hypnotist does not have any special powers, nor does he have any special vibrations with which to hypnotize you. Actually, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The hypnotist leads the subject into a state of hypnosis. In other words, the ability of hypnosis is in the subject.
WHY DO PEOPLE FAIL TO REACH THEIR GOALS USING HYPNOSIS?
Perhaps the biggest reason for the inability to reach one’s goals through hypnosis is an inadequate amount of practice where self-hypnosis is concerned. The greatest reason for the return of a symptom or “relapse” is the premature discontinuance of hypnosis with the Hypno-therapist or recorded program.
While self-hypnosis is important, it is generally the hetero-hypnosis with the hypnotist or the recording which has the greatest impact upon the subconscious mind. This is because of the training and experience of the hypnotist vs. the lack of training and experience of the client.
Some people are penny wise and pound-foolish. They mentally set an amount of time or money that they are willing to spend for help. And then they prematurely discontinue their sessions because, “I can’t afford it.” Or, “I didn’t lose 50 Lbs. in two days.”
If a person or method is really helping you to make your desired changes, then it is priceless and it should be continued. It is for this reason that follow up hypnosis is generally recommended even after a symptom seems to have disappeared completely.
Self-hypnosis should be an ongoing affair on a daily basis. Ultimately, YOUR SUCCESS IS UP TO YOU!
WILL I BE BETTER OFF HIRING A HYPNOTIST, OR WILL PURCHASING A RECORDED PROGRAM WORK BETTER?
That is an excellent question. Normally I would recommend that you utilize the services of a reputable hypnotist. The reason is that by meeting with you, a good hypnotist / NLP’er will be able to customize his approach to your personality and your favored representational system — the way you favor taking in information through the senses to make sense out of it and react to it.
In my opinion, 99% of the recorded hypnosis programs available today are strictly “Traditional Hypnosis,” and consist of only one or maybe two sessions of it at that.
Traditional Hypnosis is nothing more than a set of direct commands: “If you eat a brownie you’ll barf.” Or “You won’t have cravings,” etc. This technology has an exceptionally poor track record of success because everyone of our generation has been taught to question everything. That’s why you, your friends, and your kids usually do the opposite of what they are told to do.
That being said, having private sessions with any Hypnotist / NLP’er who has enough experience to be able to actually help you can be very expensive. There are some pre-recorded hypnotic programs based on Ericksonian Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) that have overcome those shortcomings.
They’ve done this by utilizing a mix of Traditional Hypnosis, Ericksonian Hypnosis, NLP, and the highly regarded Video Hypnosis technology. These are all technologies that are designed to eliminate the resistance factor. In fact, Video Hypnosis and the NLP technology that it’s based on, do not utilize suggestion at all. They rely on using the thought processes that have created a problem, to eliminate it!
Look for vendors who offer these technologies in multi-session products. These are programs that generally have six to eight different sessions, so you are exposed to a broad range of methodology. It takes a lot of work to make this type of program, but the high success rates are well worth it.
Stay away from the “one size fits all” — “do-or-die” hypnosis CDs and downloads. Many people are attracted to these programs because they are cheap, usually between $10.00 to $30.00. But is it cheap if it just wastes your valuable time and doesn’t work?
If you try something and it doesn’t work, then you get wary and start to expect the next approach to fail. And you get what you expect. Do you really think that the same exact commands will work for everyone? Do you think that they will work for you? Do you usually do exactly as you are told? Or do you feel the desire to do the opposite of what you are told to do?

Losing weight through hypnosis or stopping smoking through hypnosis has become one of the biggest cures of these two devices. Having the mind control to stop these two vices is the biggest step to not only stopping but keeping the weight off and staying off the cigarettes. And these are just two small parts of life â two parts of my life I’m glad Iâve improved.

By taking command of conversations, especially in business life, it gives you the ability to control your own destiny and make sure all decisions that are made (this means the ones others make as well) all benefit you.
ISNâT THAT COVERT?
When people ask me about the rapid success I have had, some say âIsnât that Covert?â Your making people think the way you want to. My answer is no. The abilities I have gained are never done to hurt anyone, in fact they are done most of the time to help others as well as myself.
When people come to me with questions that they believe have no answer, someone who practices Conversational Hypnosis will always take them on a journey where they let them know it probably canât be fixed and then bang! We give them a solution and they are amazed.
PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD
There are so many problems in the world today that someone who can help people fix them becomes a very important commodity. It is with this basis in mind I found my way to success, by solving peopleâs problems. Once you get a reputation for this, you become one of the most employable people on the planet.

Sand Traps and How to Escape Them by Roseanna Leaton
How many times have you stood on the tee or in the fairway and thought to yourself “stay out of that sand”? And then you settle in to take the shot, make contact with the ball, and you know immediately, instinctively that your ball is flying like an arrow towards that trap? It seems so unfair that you make all that effort, only to by stymied by a pile of beautifully raked sand! It’s as if the ball is being pulled by a great big powerful magnet directly to the place that you did not want it to go.
And this is in fact exactly what did happen. I mean this figuratively, not literally, of course. It was your own thinking, and the associated emotion which drove that ball into the trap. You probably think that this just cannot be so, that you were thinking about the ball staying out of the trap, that you were begging the ball to stay out, willing it to not go into that trap. Your mind however sometimes works in ways which may seem to the uninitiated to be rather perverse.
If you want to play great golf, if you want to stay out of those traps, then you need to know how your mind works. It is readily accepted that 90% of great golf is in your mind, so it pays to know how your mind works and to train your mind in the ways of successful golfers. The first rule to remember is that where there is a conflict between your will power and your imagination, your imagination wins. This is fact.
Let’s see if we can demonstrate this quickly. Try as hard as you can, right now, to NOT see a sand trap. What happened? What color was the sand? To expand on this point, when you last stood on the tee thinking “don’t go in the trap” what do you think was the image which you saw in your mind’s eye? Is it possible that you saw the ball in the trap, or simply an image of the trap? One thing I can guarantee is that this thought process will not elicit a picture of the ball sitting up in the middle of the lush green fairway.
Once you know a couple of the basic ways in which your mind can be so seemingly perverse, you can train your mind to play great golf. This can be expedited with the help of golf hypnosis. With hypnosis you have access to the inner workings of your mind so you can embed a great golf mind set easily and quickly. With golf hypnosis cds or golf hypnosis downloads you can train your brain to see what you want to happen as opposed to what you do not want to occur.
The second mental rule to consider is that the power of your emotions associated with your thought will directly affect the outcome. A thought without an emotion will have no effect. A thought which carries a great amount of emotion will have a great effect. Hence when you were “begging” your golf ball to stay out of the trap, you created a high emotional energy charge, and this was attached to what you were picturing (the trap), which combined to create a significant magnetic effect. Your emotion and visual image magnetized your golf ball right into the trap.
Your mind is amazingly powerful. You just need to know how it works and then you can train your mind to play great golf, with the help of golf hypnosis. You can learn to stay out of the traps and on the fairway with a little help from golf hypnosis.
