Hypnosis Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome by Bunny Vreeland, Ph.D
Olafur S. Palsson, Psy.D., Research Associate, Department of Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill states that the standard medical methods currently used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are of some help to the majority of people with the disorder. However, up to half of IBS sufferers are dissatisfied with the results of standard medical management, and many continue to have frequent symptoms after seeing doctors about them.
In recent years, other alternatives have been sought to help these individuals. There has been growing interest in the possibility of using the mind to soothe the symptoms of IBS. Mental states clearly affect the way the gut behaves in people with IBS, and in fact, also in people who have no gastrointestinal problems.
Although IBS is probably not caused by stress directly, it is well established from research that psychological stress increases the symptoms of many people who have the disorder.
If the mind can have such a powerful negative influence on the intestinal tract, it would seem to make sense that the mind could be used to have a positive or calming influence on the intestines. Several psychological methods to treat IBS symptoms have been tested in formal research studies, including biofeedback, cognitive therapy, psychodynamic (insight-oriented) therapy, and hypnosis treatment. It is unclear, to date, which of these psychological treatment methods is most effective, for they have generally not been tested side by side.
However, cognitive therapy and hypnosis treatment have had the highest reported success rates in repeated formal research studies, with improvement seen in 80% or more of all treated patients in some studies.
Hypnosis for IBS
The results of the first formal research study on hypnosis treatment for IBS were published in the Lancet in 1984. The investigators, Dr. Peter Whorwell and his group in Manchester in England, reported remarkable success from a seven-session hypnosis treatment of 15 patients with severe IBS problems who had not responded to any other treatment. All 15 patients treated with seven sessions of hypnotherapy improved, with dramatic improvement seen in all the central symptoms of IBS.
The researchers furthermore showed that this therapeutic impact was not merely due to belief or expectancy of improvement, because a comparison group of 15 IBS patients who were instead treated with the same number of psychotherapy sessions and also received placebo pills (pills with no medication) showed only slight improvement.
This was a powerful demonstration of the impact hypnotherapy could have on IBS, and led to considerable subsequent interest in this approach to IBS treatment. Since this first report, more than a dozen other published research reports have confirmed that hypnosis treatment is effective in treating IBS.
Generally, the treatment procedures reported in the literature consists of 4 to 12 sessions (shorter treatment than 7 sessions may be a bit less effective). Hypnosis sessions are typically conducted weekly or once every other week, last 30-40 minutes and consist of induction of hypnosis followed by deep relaxation and the use of gut-directed imagery and suggestions. Patients are commonly given short CD or audiotape hypnosis home exercises to use during the course of treatment in addition to the sessions with the clinicians.
The experience to date may be outlined as follows:
Reported success rates range from approximately 70-95% in all studies with any significant number of patients [for example, in the work of the Manchester group in England and our studies.
The improvement enjoyed from this treatment often lasts at least two years after the end of treatment .
All major IBS symptoms improve from this kind of treatment (abdominal pain, diarrhea/constipation, and bloating).
There are some indications that individuals with certain characteristics are somewhat less likely to benefit from this kind of treatment: People with very little hypnotizability (perhaps 15% of all people), persons with psychiatric disorders, and maybe (according to one report) males with diarrhea-predominant type of IBS.
This treatment can be effective also when people are treated in groups.
In addition to effects on physical symptoms, the treatment commonly improves psychological well being and life functioning substantially and can have long-term positive effects in reducing disability and health care costs and improving the quality of life of IBS patients.

Lose Weight Easily and Stop Feeling Fat by Roseanna Leaton
Lose weight easily. Anyone who feels fat and flabby yearns for an easy weight loss solution. And actually the very acknowledgment that you are fat may indeed be the key which unlocks the door to weight loss.
People don’t like to be called fat. There is a definite stigma attached to being called fat. Somehow we have learned as a society that we should remove the label “fat” from our day to day vocabulary. We have been trained to know that it is OK to be called “obese” but not to be called “fat”. But does this ultimately help us to lose weight, or does it in fact provide a mental barrier to weight loss?
What I mean is that the word obese or obesity conjures up the concept of a medical condition, one which you cannot control but rather you are subjected to; it follows that the word obesity implies that it’s not your fault, and that you can do nothing about your excess weight. The obesity label can in fact make you feel even more out of control of your eating habits than you were before, thereby making you feel that you just cannot lose weight, that you haven’t got the power to lose weight. You feel helpless.
Fat, on the other hand, is just fat. The “fat” word implies that it is your fault, your eating habits which are to blame. Thus this is why I mentioned before that to acknowledge that you are fat may just be the thing which motivates you to start losing weight. You no longer feel that you are subjected to a disease which you can do nothing about; rather you are admitting to yourself that you have the power to control your eating habits and your weight. By acknowledging that you are fat as opposed to obese you empower yourself to take control and set about losing weight.
The fat versus obesity distinction is similar to that between having a cold and suffering from the flu. How often do you hear someone say that they have the flu when in fact all they have is the common cold? Why do so many of us prefer to feel helpless and powerless instead of feeling in control? Why do we prefer to suffer from something dramatic instead of something common and mundane?
I suspect that there are a few reasons. Perhaps we don’t want to take responsibility for how we are; we don’t like to feel that we are at fault or have caused our own issues, be they being over-weight or having caught a cold. Perhaps we choose to seek the easiest solution than to have to work at something; it’s easier to go to the doctor and take a pill (be it diet pill or anti-biotic) than it is to exert our own effort in getting better or losing weight. Or maybe we just follow the crowd and use these terms of obesity or flu because that’s what we are used to hearing, and we do not really think about their hidden implications.
Whatever the underlying reasons are, fat is fat. I have to second what our UK minister of public health was quoted as saying in a recent edition of the Sunday Times. Anne Milton said that calling people fat instead of obese was more likely to motivate them to lose weight.
Yes, some people do suffer from a medical condition which results in obesity and prevents them from losing weight. But I am sure that this does not apply to all of the nearly 25% of adults and 14% of children in the UK who are labeled “obese”.
If you want to lose weight then it does help to acknowledge to yourself that you are fat. When you feel fat and flabby and acknowledge that this weighty issue is due to your own eating habits and lifestyle choices as opposed to a metabolic issue or disease you then realize that you can do something about it. You can take control and adjust your eating so as to lose weight, be it in terms of eating different types of food, choosing smaller portions or exercising so as to burn calories more quickly. The first step to losing weight easily lies in getting your mind around the matter.

Efficient Quit Smoking Hypnosis by Jeff Flow
Smoking cessation is a very hard work. The most difficult problem that a smoker has to solve is that of his psyche. It is difficult to try to give up smoking as long as the smoker himself is not really convinced that he wants to do this.
So the first important thing to do is to find a powerful motivation and to have a strong will. If necessary, these will be completed by some others alternative methods.
It is unquestionable the fact that actually smoking is not so much a physical addiction as it is a psychological one. Everything has to begin from this side of a smoker. Using all kinds of treatments is useless as long as there is no change in the mind. And it is exactly here that quit smoking hypnosis operates.
This is the most significant reason why this method seems to be so successful. A lot of surveys and reports have demonstrated the fact that even if quit smoking hypnosis is a rather new method it has proved its efficacy in a great number of cases. The results of numerous tests all over the world had shown that hypnosis is one of the most effective aids in the cessation of smoking.
Quit smoking hypnosis is an approach based on some principles that are scientific psychological. It shows some similarities with the individual counseling. This method consists of some recording in the form of CDs or cassettes that are listened regularly by the one who is seeking to be free of cigarettes.
When being a heavy smoker this vice becomes a habit, a routine and therefore most of his needs to smoke are sometimes automatic. Thus hypnosis acts upon both the conscious but mainly upon the unconscious side of the mind. It is here that most automatisms are to be found.
This kind of therapy relies on the fact that it gradually manages to change a smoker’s beliefs and mentalities on this habit. Little by little this mechanism starts to function and the giving up process becomes successful.
However the most efficient ways to stop smoking are the ones that are combined in order to operate on both the physical necessities for nicotine and on the psychological dependence. That is why quit smoking hypnosis must be viewed only as a complementary help in smoking cessation, but a very reliable one. When combined with some other variant it will certainly provide the most valuable results.

Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation. You are aware of your environment. You can hear everything. It is the best way to gain control of your brain. Now you have real power to change or re-program some harmful emotional patterns in your mind.
Hypnosis is a new branch in psychology. The patterns are located at the subconscious level of your brain. Hypnosis enables to reach that place and give a direct cure to the problem.

I have used self hypnosis to change my eating habits. It worked, and it is still working. I got rid of my constant craving for chocolate. It was a difficult battle without it.

What Is Hypnosis? by Joseph Then
Hypnosis is a state of mind that is neither fully awake nor fully asleep. It is what can be called a trance-like state during which the patient is in an enhanced state of awareness. During a hypnotic trance the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed.
Hypnosis is a state induced by the doctor or therapist by way of suggestion. The therapist suggests ideas, concepts actions to the patient whilst under hypnotics. These ideas become absolutely real to the patient and through them the therapist can extract information from the patient of which the patient is unaware. Since this information resides in the subconscious mind the person has never encountered it consciously. Thus, hypnosis is an effective method to unearth the matters lying suppressed in the subconscious mind, which are the cause of many psychological problems.
Hypnosis is used to treat problems related to the mind. However, it can have a positive effect on the body as well. While hypnotherapy can be used to overcome phobias, negative thoughts or suppressed emotions; physiologically, hypnosis leads to slower breathing, a lower pulse rate and slower metabolism. It can also reduce the sensation and awareness of pain and other unpleasant symptoms, such as nausea.
Hypnosis works by altering our state of consciousness. The left side of the brain, which controls the conscious mind, is put to sleep during hypnosis. Consequently, the right side of the brain that is non-analytical and subconscious becomes more alert. Hypnosis works because the subconscious mind is more instinctive than the conscious mind, and unless it changes the patient’s behavior and physical state cannot alter.
Clinical hypnosis is an effective process to bypass the conscious mind and communicate with the subconscious mind. It is the best cure for breaking a habit like smoking, plus, it helps in pain control, weight control, relaxation, study habits, sports performance, anesthesia, and trauma resolution. Hypnotherapy has helped people remove negative blocks that have been holding them back from achieving their goals. It is a method of de-conditioning or de-programming the mind.
Hypnosis is a perfectly safe technique that anyone who can concentrate for a few moments can learn. Today, it is being taught at universities, hospitals, and training centers and seminars and workshops to manage stress and pain.
Whether we realize it or not we have all been in a hypnotic state some time or the other. Basically, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis since it is impossible to hypnotize a person without his willing co-operation. Daydreaming and absentmindedness are some expressions of a hypnotic state, when you are ‘lost to the world’ and you drift into ‘a world of your own.’
Have you ever heard of a man walking on burning embers? That’s a typical example of shifting consciousness from the pain. And, believe it or not, he gets no blisters, either!

Experience Hypnosis Without Going To A Hypnotherapist by
If you would like to get an amazing experience of hypnosis without going to a hypnotherapist to get it, you are now able to download our hypnotherapy audios, which have been written and are presented by a qualified hypnotherapist, with relaxing music playing in the background. The hypnosis audios are recordings of the hypnosis scripts with which they appear on the People Building website. Our free hypnosis audio is made up of a hypnotic induction scripts called Body relaxation induction” and a deepener called relaxing Inner self for Healing” It is just over half an hour long and forms the basis for all of our other hypnosis downloads which can be purchased from the site. In all of our other Hypnosis audio downloads, those two particular scripts are used as the induction and deepener, and are then followed by the substance of whatever particular area of improvement you need to focus on. Therefore, by downloading our free Hypnosis audio, you will be training your mind on how to go into trance, so that when you are ready to deal with some of the bigger issues you would like to improve, your system will then be used to hearing that same hypnotic music, voice and words and know that it is now time to go into a trance.
The free hypnosis download can be downloaded and listened to from your computer, or from itunes and downloaded onto your ipod. Simply look up People Building from your itunes store and select the hypnosis podcast.
Of course, by using a hypnosis download, you may not be able to solve all of the issues you are hoping to, because the information is generic and has not been created especially for you and your problems. That is why you can request an audio to be created to meet your specific needs. If you think that there is a audio on the site which may be appropriate, but you are unsure, you could buy the hypnosis script first to read the content of it.
For some problems, there are additional resources available. For example, for those wishing to stop smoking, we have a quit smoking e-book, called freedom from smoking the NLP way.” This ebook contains hints, tips and activities to help you make the transition from a smoker to a non smoker and offers a money back guarantee. The cost of the book is roughly equivalent to the cost of 3 packets of cigarettes so just think about how much you could save in the long run.
On the subject of savings, if it’s our hypnosis scripts that you are interested in, in particular, you will be pleased to know that we offer meaty discounts to those who want to purchase lots of hypnosis scripts, rather than buying them individually. There are, at last count over 60 hypnosis scripts on our website. The cost of buying them all would be around $180.00 (roughly 90.00) This is why we offer saving of up to $60.00 (roughly 30.00) for buying collections of our hypnotherapy scripts.

How to secretly influence the subconscious mind to get a “YES!” by
Why do some people achieve 1000 times more than 99.9% of all other people in the world? Do they possess magical abilities? Are they in any way superhuman?
The answer is no, of course. What distinguishes them from other people are three things:
1.) They have tremendously developed “people skills”
2.) They have an efficient time management
3.) They all have the ability to clearly see (visualize) their goals as if already achieved and believe with their whole soles that they will achieve them and that there’s nothing that can stand in their way. They know for certain that any obstacle can be bypassed somehow and they NEVER QUIT.
OK, in this article I’ll bring you a bit closer to developing your “people skills”, more precisely, I’ll share a few methods to get people to do what you want when you want it.
Where could this be of help? In sales, relationships, raising kids, therapy and so on. So, let’s go to it…
What are the steps necessary to get a person do what we want?
First, we have to get his or her attention and hold it. It’s no use to know all the “tricks and techniques” if they don’t listen to us.
Second, we have to somehow “open their mind” to us or in other words get them in a comfortable state where they will eagerly respond to us. Most commonly this state is referred to as being in rapport with someone. There are several very effective and simple techniques one can use to gain rapport with someone. I discuss them much more in detail in my free covert hypnosis audio newsletter at http://hypnoticmindtraining.com
If someone manages to get into a state of deep rapport with someone, that person is very likely to respond positively to almost anything the persuader wants. It’s like: have you ever been talking to someone and suddenly you noticed that wonderful, warm, comfortable feeling? You could almost read each other minds with that person and you felt like you could talk to them for ever? This happens quite frequently in our lives, BUT…
… It’s never done on purpose (unless you’ve met someone trained in NLP and covert hypnosis, that is). This is what you have to train yourself to do first. And although strong rapport isn’t at all needed when it comes to influencing someone with covert hypnosis, it can significantly facilitate the process…
Before I tell you about the third step in creating a powerful and influential message, let me ask you a simple question:
Would it be fair to say that the more you read this article, the more you naturally want to learn more about the art of covert hypnosis and the ability to predictably influence the decisions of people that have the power to make your life a lot easier?
Intriguing, huh? Read on…
So, the third step is to make such a presentation that it in some way influences the subconscious mind without the conscious mind being aware of it at all! The outcome are feelings that motivate the person to do what you subliminally suggested to them. This can be done in many different ways, through direct commands, subtle suggestions, metaphors, stories and so on.
If you were to think of all the applications of this powerful knowledge and how it can change your life and relationships for ever, when would now be the best time to act and learn more about these mouthwatering techniques? The best place to start your journey is at the web site provided in this article and in the “about the author” box and subscribe to the free covert hypnosis audio newsletter.
Have fun exploring your newly-found knowledge.
Blaz has been studying covert hypnosis and persuasion for 4 years now. He shares his views on the subject in his covert hypnosis audio newsletter.Article Source: The FREE Article Distribution Center

The Subtle Art of Implication in Hypnosis by Clifford Mee
The language you use in Conversational Hypnosis is key to your success as a hypnotist. The Stealth Tactics you have been learning are important as you learn to implant your suggestions while bypassing the critical factor that causes the mind t reject or analyze what is not it’s own. As you continue to learn more concepts and principals of Stealth Tactics along with other language skills all the parts will start to come together to create a complete picture that is Conversational Hypnosis.
The idea behind all the Stealth Tactics you have reviewed so far and the ones we will review in this article is to enter the mind unnoticed or overload the mind once you are there so you can leave your suggestion. When you learn to carry this out successfully you will have the ability to change lives and obtain your goals as a hypnotist.
Implication is the next Stealth Tactic you will need to add to your arsenal of mind tools. Implication is largely based on the use of body language; however both body language and voice are at the heart of Conversational Hypnosis. Both of these elements must be mastered in order to accomplish the goals you have with people.
In Implication you will see that anything you imply to a listener will automatically bypass the critical factor. The mind does not process and analyze implications they way it does things you say outright. If you make a statement a loud the very sounds of the words you use are instantly being checked by the critical factor for agreement. When an implication is made it is done so with body language and tone and is less likely to be checked and often is not at all.
The reason for this is that it takes a vast amount of effort to analyze an implication. This doesn’t mean it never happens, however it is rare. For the conscious mind to analyze an implication there is simply more work and effort involved, many times people will not do this out of habit, too tired or just overloaded with information in the first place.
Implications are very common, you use them everyday. They are statements you make that are accompanied by a certain tone, body language or look. How you use an implication is very important, especially in Conversational Hypnosis.
This brings us to the Implication Tactics, which are simply ways of using the Stealth Tactic of Implication. The first Implication Tactic is called Implied Directives. This is the art of asking someone to do something without actually asking them a question. A good example would be to say, I know you parked the car in the garage.” This is quite obviously a statement and not a question but when said in a specific tone it implies a question.
The second Implication Tactic is to Create an Expectation. This happens when you use an implication to set up an expectation. A common example of this is when a teacher asks if her students have any questions. Often after one person has raised a hand and asked a question there will be others to follow.
The teacher has made the implication and expectation that there are probably questions about the subject matter. The other students are following the set expectation by the first student to ask a question. It all has a pattern and a flow to it.
The third Implication Tactic is the Tacit Authority. The concept behind Tacit Authority is to imply thing about you as an individual. This changes how people respond to you in different ways and environments. An everyday example of this tactic is when you visit the office of a doctor or lawyer and they have numerous certifications and articles displayed about the type of work and their successes.
The items that are displayed don’t require the professional to tell you how skilled they are at their profession, but sets an expectation within your mind of the type of service you will receive. Many times charismatic people are very good at tacit authority. They are not inclined to brag about themselves they display their achievements and allow others to draw their own conclusions.
Another way to use Tacit Authority is to tell a story and allow the listeners to draw conclusions about your personality from that story. If you tell a story about rescuing a puppy from a river, and make it believable, they will automatically assume you are brave and loving of animals.
These three smaller tactics will help you in applying the Stealth Tactic of Implication. The main concepts here are to remember that in Implication you are using the tone of your voice, body language, mannerisms, things around you and facial expressions to imply a thing. Raised eyebrows, a change in voice, certificates and so on will all tell their own stories about you or what you are asking of the person.
Implication is a very powerful way of making a statement without actually having to find the words to say it outright. If people are drawing their own conclusions about you from implications they are more likely to believe them than if you were to simply say I am brave.”
The implication is more believable for the simple fact that it is their own idea, they came up with a view of you that is all their own. You can steer that view and invite confidence, trust and comfort with the Implications you coax from them.

Improve Memory Hypnosis
Stress is Sort of Funny by Patrick Glancy
Stress is funny. Not ha-ha funny, but odd funny. It can motivate you to improve your life. But, it can also ruin your health and your life.
How stress affects you Depends on your quantity of stress and what kinds of stress you have. It can also depend on what kinds of stress you’ve had in your past and how you learned to deal with it.
The physical signs of stress are supposed to help you survive – fight or flight. In the modern world, this is very rarely any help. Most stress today is psychological.
Mental stress will come from issues such as concern about money, relationships, and your health. Your body’s physical reaction to stress does not help these situations. Since these situations are common and long-lasting, your body can potentially be in a constant state of stress.
High stress can cause health problems as varied as muscle tension, sleep problems, mental confusion, depression and digestion problems. Health problems from stress eventually just increase the stress you already have.
It is obvious that managing and reducing your stress is a priority. There are thousands of people offering you advice on how to do this. You will need to find what works for you. What advice is most helpful for your situation and your way of doing things?
I believe it will help you find your appropriate stress management tools by becoming more aware of what creates your stress and how you experience it.
It can be helpful to decide of your stress is situational or behavioral – Is your stress reaction appropriate for the current situation or does it feel blown out of proportion? Figuring this out can require some brutal honesty on your part.
If your stress is situational, what are the situations and can they dealt with in a practical way? Do you have the time and energy to get some form of exercise and a proper diet? (I know from personal experience, if I have high stress, it is when my life is too busy to work-out or get to the grocery store for planned meals. That’s when I need to slow down.)
If your stress if from behaviors, spend some time reviewing the situation. Separate what is about now and what is about the past, such as memories of past emotional events. (the stronger the emotion, the more vivid the memory. The more vivid the memory, the stronger the stress you will continue to feel from it.)
After getting a better understanding of your stress, you will have a better idea of how to manage it.
Stress from current situations is easier to manage, once you find what works for you. Stress from behaviors or past experience may need outside help to get through and may take a little longer to deal with. But, it IS possible, and IS worth doing.
If you have a behavioral stress controlling your life, seek professional help. Medication is sometimes an answer, though many people that have used medication for stress, experience side effects that are a trade-off. They sometimes say they would rather feel stressed than live in a daily fog of medication.
Research your options and educate yourself about them. Then, find what works for you and do it. When it comes to improving your life, the only poor choice is to not try.

Subliminal Hypnosis
Subliminal Hypnosis
Hypnosis – How Effective Will It Be For Me? by Alan B. Densky, CH
Hypnosis was accepted by the American Medical Association in 1958 as an effective course for treating stressfulness, and stress related symptoms. But does it really work, and what should a person look for when seeking a hypnotherapist, or procuring hypnosis tapes & CDs?
There are many assorted hypnotic methodologies that are used to reach the subconscious mind to invoke change. Each method has its pros and its cons. No two people are the same, so it only makes sense that the best results will be reached by utilizing the methods that each individual will react favorably to.
Most therapists who sell hypnosis tapes offer products that consist of standard traditional hypnosis methods. A few sellers offer much more fresh and effective Ericksonian Hypnosis methods. And fewer still offer NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques.
The newest and possibly most effective technique available is video hypnosis. Video hypnosis makes use of the latest Neuro-linguistic programming thought processes to create instant change in an individual. Video hypnosis methods are not subliminal in nature.
With “Traditional Hypnosis,” we simply make commands to the subconscious mind. In case you are wondering, as far as I’m concerned, the term unconscious, and subconscious are equivalent — they refer to the same part of the mind. This type of suggestion therapy works well for a hypnotic subject who generally accepts what they are told without having a lot of questions.
Most hypnosis tapes sold today are based on “Traditional Hypnosis” methods. This reason is because it really doesn’t take much schooling to author a script and just tell someone what to do. Unfortunately Traditional Self-hypnosis is not very compelling for people who are critical or analytical in their thinking processes.
By contrast, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Neuro-linguistic programming methods work far more effectively for most people today! This is because today people are taught to analyze everything they hear, rather than just do what everyone else is doing. So these technologies do work very well on people who are critical or analytical in their method of thinking.
While it’s true that these techniques have a much greater success rate at reaching and affecting the unconscious, it’s also true that it can years of experience and study to learn how to apply these methods efficiently. So this is a chore accepted only by dedicated hypnotists.
With “Ericksonian Hypnosis,” we use little stories; called hypnotic metaphors, to introduce new ideas to the subconscious mind. This is a powerful and effective discipline, because it usually eliminates the blockage of and resistance to suggestions that is often caused by the conscious mind. There are two types of metaphors, “Isomorphic,” and those of the imbedded command or “interspersal” nature.
Isomorphic metaphors offer guidance to the unconscious by telling a story that provides a moral. The subconscious draws a one on one relationship between parts of the story and parts of a negative behavior. For example, if a child is telling a lot of lies, the hypnotherapist might tell the child the story about the “Boy who cried wolf.” The subconscious would draw a comparison between the boy in the story and the child, and realize that telling lies could lead to disaster, so the child would probably stop lying.
With the Embedded Command technique, the hypno-therapist tells a story that distracts the consciousness. The story contains covert suggestions that are usually accepted by the subconscious. For example: While the subject is in hypnosis, he might hear the hypnotist say something like: I’m going to tell you a story about a [beach that has feelings. Isn't that] strange to [you]? It’s a warm summer’s day, and the beach [feels great].
The hypnotist pauses, shifts his voice tonality, and emphasizes the bracketed text. The unconscious recognizes a “Selectional restriction violation.” Beaches can’t have feelings. So it’s like the subconscious says to itself: “Wait a minute, a beach can’t feel anything, so that must mean that I’m supposed to feel something, and I’m supposed to [feel great].” Since the suggestions are hidden in a tale that is misdirecting the conscious mind, its unlikely that the conscious will realize that it has just received a command, so it won’t block it or resist it.
“Process Instructions” direct the unconscious to remember a past event of an experience from the past where something appropriate was learned, and then apply that experience to making a change in the present.
With “Neuro-Linguistic Programming” (NLP), rather than using post-hypnotic commands, we use the same methods of thinking that are creating a problem, like nail-biting or stress, to do away with the problem. NLP in the hands of an experienced NLP’er can be very effective.
NLP Anchoring: Have you ever heard some old music and had it recreate feelings from the past? When you originally listened to the music, you were feeling those feelings, and they unconsciously became attached to the melody of the music. So the song became an Anchor for the feelings. Now when you hear the song, it triggers the same feelings again.
Anchoring can be a very powerful methodology. Suppose that you have a memory of being commended for having done something well in the past. If you get inside of that memory, you’ll be able to revivify the feelings of self-esteem that you had at that time. If you touch two fingers together while you re-experience those feelings of self-esteem, that touch will become an anchor for the feelings of self-esteem.
Now suppose that you want to create motivation to stick to a diet and lose weight. If you make a mental image of yourself with a thin, sexy body, and simultaneously trigger the anchor – (press the two fingers together again), your unconscious will connect together the feelings of self-esteem to the image of you with the thin body and your level of motivation to lose weight will increase markedly.
NLP Flash: This is a very powerful and effective NLP method that can be used to “flip” things around in the subconscious, so that thoughts and experiences that used to trigger feelings of stress actually trigger relaxation instead.
The NLP Flash technique is also a powerful way to extinguish conditioned responses. For example: If a smoker has a cigarette while drinking coffee, his/her unconscious will pair the two behaviors together so that he/she automatically gets an urge for a cigarette anytime he/she has a cup of coffee. The Flash will cause the smoker’s mind to disconnect the image of a cigarette from the cup of coffee so that he/she does NOT get a compulsion to smoke just because he/she is drinking coffee.
With “subliminal” programs, the recording has dual tracks. One track contains a cover sound that is heard by the conscious mind. The cover sound could be anything from music to nature sounds. The second track contains direct commands that are listened to by the unconscious mind. These post-hypnotic commands are repeated many, many times during a session.
Subliminal programs can be played while you are watching a movie on TV. You don’t have to stop what you are doing and relax like you do with suggestion therapy or NLP. Subliminals can be used as an adjunct to hypnotism. But Subliminals will never replace Hypnosis or Neuro-linguistic programming because they are not as effective! They’re not even in the same universe!! Some experts claim that it can take up to 80 hours of listening to a subliminal recording before it will have any effect on many people.
The last method of hypnosis that we’re going to talk about is “Video Hypnosis.” Video Hypnosis is the most effective form of hypnosis! The techniques used in video hypnosis are based on the NLP technology, which works based on the utilization of a person’s existing thought processes instead of hypnotic commands.
Over 70% of the population learns much more quickly and automatically by seeing, rather then by hearing. Think about it. If you feel an compulsion to smoke or eat when watching television, it’s because your subconscious recorded the video image of either food in your hand, or a cigarette in your hand, and then bound that image with the visualization of the TV. You never spoke to yourself and told yourself in words to associate them together, am I correct?
And that’s why the Video Hypnosis mechanism is so efficient. Video Hypnosis is not hypnotic in the traditional sense, relying on the spoken word. But if you’ve ever shed a tear when watching a sad movie, then you know how practical Video Hypnosis can be at reaching the subconscious mind. With this technique, results usually start with the very first viewing!

Quit Smoking Hypnosis Progams Have The Highest Long Term Success Rate by Joanne Fallwater
Of all the methods people use to quit smoking, hypnosis is the most effective. There are studies that show that when people use quit smoking hypnosis programs they are successful more than 60% of the time. When you compare that with the success rates of quit smoking drugs (20% to 30%), it makes a lot of sense to use hypnosis programs.
But what exactly happens during hypnosis when it’s used to quit smoking? Basically, you put yourself into a light trance state. You’re not asleep, but you’re not intently focused on your everyday thoughts. You’re in a state of deep relaxation, but you’re still able to hear and respond to the world around you.
A lot of people think they can’t be hypnotized. They know they’re usually tense and have trouble relaxing. But most people can learn relaxation techniques. And that’s really all you need to be able to do for a successful quit smoking hypnosis program.
There are a lot of hypnosis programs that claim that you will quit smoking after one session. This is actually quite possible. Many people report that they have quit smoking for several hours or the rest of the day after only one session.
But that doesn’t mean you never have to use the self hypnosis program began. In reality, when you use a hypnosis program to stop smoking, you’re learning an ongoing technique. You’ll be able to use it for the rest of your life, whenever the urge to smoke comes up.
Think of it this way: if you take a golf lesson, your swing could be greatly improved after only one lesson. But you’d still have to practice that new technique every time you play golf.
It’s the same when you learn a hypnosis technique to stop smoking. Every time you get a nicotine craving, you have a choice to make. You can light up a cigarette or cigar, or you can practice your hypnosis technique.
So will you have to take hypnosis “lessons” forever? Well, think about the golf lesson analogy. If you want to improve your golf game, do you have to take golf lessons forever? Of course not!
You take a lesson to improve your swing, then you go out and practice what you’ve learned. And the more you practice, the better you get, and the easier it is to play well.
But even if your game improves a lot after that one lesson (and lots of practice), there might come a time when you would want to take another lesson. What if you had an accident and hurt your knee, or you just couldn’t play golf for several months? You might need a refresher lesson just to get back into shape.
It’s the same thing when you use hypnosis to quit smoking. You learn it. You practice it. You improve your technique. And the beauty of it is, even though your goal is to quit smoking forever, if that doesn’t happen after your first hypnosis try, you can still try again until you reach your goal.
When your goal is to quit smoking for good, you haven’t failed unless you stop trying. Chances are you’ve already tried to quit smoking at least once. So you already know that it’s not an easy thing to do.
The reality is that most people try to quit smoking several times before they finally quit for good. So instead of beating yourself up for relapsing, think of it as getting one step closer to your final goal. As long as you keep trying to quit, there is no doubt that you will be successful. And using hypnosis will definitely help you achieve your goal.

The Controversy Over Hypnosis in Medicine by David Wells
Today more than ever people are turning to non- traditional means of healing and medicine to combat
the dangers of medications and other medical practices. In recent years hypnosis has been controversial for what appears to be because it is simply misunderstood. Many people have a vision of someone dangling a watch back in forth to send the patient to another planet. This is not the case and is only one of the many myths that plague the practice.
Hypnosis allows for a deep relaxation and becoming one with the inner soul and mind. There are a number of benefits from hypnosis and is proven to help in healing and relaxation. One of the myths is that hypnosis only allows the person to relax while in a ‘trance’.
First, the reason that hypnosis works is because it allows for the person to resolve issues during the session that are currently causing distress in their lives. Many therapists use hypnosis for memory therapy and to help the patient come to terms with feelings and disturbances.
Another very common myth is that the hypnotist can put thoughts or feelings into the mind of their patient. This could not be further from the truth. During hypnosis the patient is fully aware of their surroundings and actions.
This myth comes from the fact that many individuals can be brainwashed, but this generally happens in the everyday world not during hypnosis. Hypnosis can not make the person act or believe something that they are not already inclined to do so.
As with anything there are a few individuals that have caused hypnosis to fall under the prey of skeptical members of society. Over the years some have entered into the profession with improper training and basically were attempting to line their pockets.
A way to avoid this is to only visit a reputable provider and ensure that they have the credentials to perform hypnosis. For those skeptics and others that question the validity of hypnosis we simply refer to studies that have found the healing and health benefits of hypnosis. There is no arguing with reputable research and patients that report medical benefits.
Anxiety disorder affects millions of individuals every year. These distortions are based on the irrational fears of others viewing them or looking upon them in a negative light. The best way to dispel these irrational fears is to face them and learn to hold their chin up, facing their fears with clinical hypnosis.
The scripting in their mind has become such that they hear things that are not even really there. The same fear that a person has of an animal is the same fear that the panic or anxiety disorder individual suffers in a crowd of people. Though it is not a realistic fear it is still very real to them.
Everyone has some type of fear or anxiety, but everyone is different. So what may be a fear for one person may not be for another. That is the reason that some do not understand how anyone could be afraid of a crowd, bird or cat.
There are millions of phobias and fears. Hypnosis therapy can help change those anxiety scripts and replace them with a normal script that allows the person to coexist in their environment without fear. Fears cost millions every year in sick days and hospital visits. A hypnosis session is very reasonable and can change the programming of the mind very quickly.
Fears are very real and individuals try very hard to reason their fears away. Unfortunately this is not always successful and it leaves the individual to suffer throughout their lives. Hypnosis treatment can teach the individual how to reason and use logic to make a sound decision as to whether something is real or imagined.
In most cases fears are not logical or possible. For example, a patient that has a fear of cat realizes that a cat will not harm her, yet she is still afraid of them. This is an irrational fear and one that has not been followed through with logic or reasoning. In hypnosis the body is relaxed as well as the mind and allows the brain to rationalize the fear. This is the only true way to reprogram the brain!

The Art Of How To Learn Hypnosis by John Hubert
If you want to learn hypnosis, then there are a few things that you should be aware of. First of all, hypnosis, like with any other skill, requires practice in order to get the hang of and eventually master. Unless you’re prepared to dedicate yourself to it, then don’t expect to make any real progress.
The amount of time each week that you should devote to practicing hypnosis is debatable, however if you can hypnotise at least one person every day, voluntarily of course, then you will be well on the way to buildling up your confidence within this field.
If you want to learn covert hypnosis, then you’ll need to understand how hypnosis can be applied discreetly, in interpersonal settings, outside of people’s conscious awareness. There’s no set guidelines that you can follow to ensure that hypnosis works, rather it’s something that you must simply keep peserversing at until eventually it pays off.
Hypnosis has a lot of myths surrounding it as well, particularly in relation to mind control. You cannot ever ‘control’ a person’s mind in the literal sense, as people will always be in control of their own thoughts and behaviour. What you can do however is influence the way people behave, but they must act upon this influence by their own free will.
So if you want to learn hypnosis, then know that it begins with practice. If you don’t practice what you’ve been taught throughout the various hypnosis courses on the internet and in real life, then you won’t really ever become proficient within the field.
Many people think that it’s somehow an easy, straight forward process. In reality however, the process can be a little difficult at first, even though eventually it will become second nature.
So go ahead and apply what you learn, and see how you progress with it. You may end up being quite surprised with the feats you can pull off when you learn hypnosis, as people will actually be performing actions they otherwise wouldn’t. Always remember however that this process can be explained by the person voluntarily doing what you say. This is also the case in covert hypnosis.
One last tip on your journey to learn hypnosis is to remain vigilant and ensure that you don’t ever misue the techniques you learn within hypnosis. Sometimes people will try and use hypnosis for their own personal gain, however this is never recommended, for obvious reasons.
The author of this article has a keen interest in hypnosis and has been researching the field for a number of years. He recommends the page on ways to learn hypnosis and others ways of how to learn hypnosis.

Difference between Allergy, Sensitivity & Intolerance by jsolutions011
What’s the difference between allergy, sensitivity, and intolerance? There’s a lot of confusion about these terms, and the whole subject is confusing enough without that. The “correct” meaning of each of these terms is as follows:
â Allergy: This term is used by medical allergists to denote those body reactions which involve the entire immune system, in particular the IgE (immuno-globulin, type E) reaction.
â Sensitivity: This term is used by environmental ecologists, scientists, and many medical allergists to denote somewhat different body reactions (mostly white blood cell actions) which often do not involve IgE, and other parts of the immune system. (IgG reactions are often used.)
â Intolerance: This term refers to a food intolerance, which is characterized by a missing enzyme that is needed to digest a particular food. Familiar examples include the enzyme “lactase” which is necessary to digest milk products, and the enzyme needed to digest beans. Both cause intestinal problems, mostly gas from the fermentation of the food instead of digestion. Since intolerance is not a true problem involving allergens, we’ll stop with the definition here.
The first two – allergy and sensitivity – are very similar in their effects. Either or both can cause virtually any symptom known to man. A partial list of known allergy/sensitivity symptoms is as follows:
â Head: Headache, neck ache, fullness, pressure or tightness in the head, dizziness, imbalance, vertigo, blackout. Sneezing, runny or stuffy nose; puffy, watery, or itchy eyes, blurred vision, excessive mucous formation; ringing, popping or fullness in the ears, fluid in the middle ear, earache, hearing loss; sore throat, hoarse, weak voice, gagging, itching in the roof of the mouth, difficulty swallowing, canker sores, excessive thirst, frequent yawning, sinusitis, increased sensitivity to light & sound.
â Chest: Coughing, wheezing, reduced air flow, tight congested feeling in the chest, shortness of breath, chest pain, rapid pulse, palpitations, heart irregularities, sudden changes in blood pressure.
â Stomach: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating after meals, belching, passing gas, feeling of fullness in the stomach long after finishing a meal, abdominal pains or cramps.
â Skin: Hives, rashes, eczema, itching, sweating, flushing, chilly, cold or hot flashes.
â General: Faintness, clumsiness, excessive drowsiness or sleepiness soon after eating, muscle pains, cramps, spasms, weakness, twitching, jerking, or tics, joint aches, warmth, or redness, backache, neuralgia, swelling of the hands or feet, urinary frequency or urgency, vaginal itching, excessive hunger or binge eating.
â Mental: Schizophrenia, depression, hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD), Emotional instability or hypersensitivity, Insomnia, Chronic fatigue, crying jags, stuttering, excessive daydreaming, anxiety, panic attacks, withdrawn, listless, seizures, aggressive behavior, anger, irritability, silly, tense, restless, excited, agitated, behavior problems in children, difficulty concentrating, memory loss, poor comprehension, confusion, impaired attention, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behavior, feelings of unreality, disorientation, false beliefs or delusions, hallucinations, suicidal, feel like hurting self.
NOTE that all of the above “brain problems” may be caused by allergy or sensitivity. This is a very important point in understanding solutions to “brain problems”. As a matter of fact, since the unconscious mind controls the physical body, (including the immune system) all of the above “symptoms” could be thought of as brain controlled. This leads to possible cures using the unconscious mind. This explains the success of both the Bate Auditory Training system and EEG Biofeedback, (AKA Neurofeedback), as well as hypnosis. All are methods that have been used for brain training.
A lot of the confusion comes from medical allergists not being up-to-date on testing methods of sensitivity. Many are still using the obsolete “scratch” test. Others are using the newer RAST (Radio-AllogoSorbent Test). Although the scratch test will sometimes show food sensitivities as well as direct food allergies, it is often confusing to these professionals. The RAST test only tests IgE, and most food/chemical sensitivities do not show up on this test at all.
It is generally considered by “experts” in allergy that the “scratch” test is only 75% accurate, the RAST test is about 85% accurate on allergies and 20% accurate on sensitivities, and other tests for sensitivities are about 80% accurate. Both false negative and false positives are seen on all tests.
There’s another very important difference between allergy and sensitivity. A food or chemical sensitivity will literally “die down” and no longer cause symptoms if the food or chemical is abstained from for a period of 3-6 months, and only ingested once a week or so from then on. Allergies do NOT die down, but are usually a lifelong problem for the sufferer.
As an example, I am sensitive to both soy and peanuts, and allergic to ragweed. Soy caused pain in my left arm like tennis elbow, bursitis, and neuralgia. Peanuts cause rheumatoid arthritis in my hands. Ragweed causes rhinitis (hay fever). Living in Florida, I’m not bothered by ragweed as much as I was in NJ as a boy. Sure, if the ragweed pollen is high, I may sneeze a few times, but no real problem. I can generally ignore it.
Peanuts and soy are different, as both cause real pain. I have to be careful about eating any foods which contain either. As long as I am that careful, I am free of both “symptoms”. I can even eat a peanut butter sandwich once a week without a problem. But, if I should eat two of these within a few days, my hands would be painful and cramped. Before I found the problem, my hands were really crippled up, and my wife and I were sailing around the Caribbean at the time in a sailboat that required rope handling, etc.
There are many tests used by different allergists and orthomolecular or environmental ecologists. These are as follows:
â RAST – as explained above – this is used by most progressive allergist MD’s today. But, since it doesn’t show up sensitivities well, many allergists just ignore them.
â Scratch – This is also used by many allergists but is considered to be obsolete by most scientific observers. It does show some sensitivities but is difficult to interpret.
â EPT – The End-point-Titration test is perhaps the most accurate of all tests, and it shows both allergy and sensitivity. It does not distinguish between them, and it has the advantage of not only the most accurate testing method, but it also creates the “correct” dosage for “corrective shots” as it tests.
â Cytotoxic Test – This is a test for food and chemical sensitivities, and it also shows up food/chemical allergies, but not as clearly, and like the EPT test, it does not distinguish between them. It is now considered somewhat outdated and replaced by the ALCAT test below. I did use it in my practice however with good results.
â ALCAT – this test is an advance over the above cytotoxic test, and it uses a similar method of observing white blood cells, but it is much improved with better accuracy. IgG – There are some facilities that test for IgG in much the same way as the RAST test does for IgE. This is supposed to find food/chemical sensitivities. I do not personally know enough about this technique to have an opinion about it.
â Caveman Diet & Pulse Testing – This has one huge advantage over all the above. IT’S FREE! Download this info at:
http://Alternate-Health.com/pulse.html
While working in a top allergy lab in the early 80′s, I coined the First Law of Allergy/Sensitivity: “There are no laws”. I later modified this to include “There are only a few guidelines”. Some time later, I coined another “law” for allergy/sensitivity: “Anything Can Cause Anything!”
Various Allergy Cure Techniques
First, and most difficult, find out just what is causing each symptom. Use any or all of the allergy testing methods outlined above, or found in my shareware book The Health Revolution”. In the Appendix section of my book, there are several very helpful allergy questionnaires (devised by Dr. Marshall Mandell), and several lists of common foods that are often allergenic.
On the Resource pages, there are sources for more info, including cross-reactivity, and food families. This “finding” is the most difficult part as it involves a lot of detective work, keeping a food and environment diary, and self-testing.
Ok, now you’ve found that you’re allergic (or sensitive), what are your options to get rid of the symptoms produced by whatever is causing them? Actually, there are several options, although some may or may not work for you as an individual. My first rule of allergy (and sensitivity) is:
THERE ARE NO RULES. There are some guidelines, but remember that “anything can cause anything”.
Here are some of the options for actually getting rid of allergy/sensitivity symptoms:
1. Avoidance of foods/environment/chemicals causing symptoms.
2. Subliminal Training
3. Shots derived from EPT (End Point Titration).
4. Sub-lingual dosing derived from EPT.
5. Chiropractic (including NAET).
6. Acupuncture.
7. Traditional shots from an MD allergist
8. Homeopathy.
Avoidance is OK when you are dealing with specific food allergy/sensitivity such as shellfish, or peanuts, but very difficult if the foods are common such as wheat or corn, or it’s an environmental allergy.
For brain problems in particular, I recommend Subliminal Training. I proved that this somehow changes the brain reaction to some allergens. This theory of mine was shown to be correct in tests in 2004. Since it is the least expensive of all clinical solutions, it should be tried first. If it works, you’ve saved a lot of money.
EPT derived shots are much more accurate, but even they can change with time in individuals, so re-testing is necessary, and it can get very expensive. If money is no object, this is the best at present in my opinion. Some individuals are “cured” completely with these – others may have to be on shots for many years or even forever in some cases.
The same for sub-lingual doses. The only difference is that no shots are needed. Dr Doris Rapp has gotten excellent results over many years in treating ADD and even autistic children this way. (Check for her books in your library reference section).
Traditional allergy shots are very inaccurate, ranging from about 50% effective to much less. They work best at making money for the allergists pocket in general.
Chiropractors have claimed for years that allergies can be cured by spinal manipulation, and certainly, they have lots of case histories to prove that claim. The latest NAET technique seems to have some good success rates although I have no personal knowledge of it.
My problem with chiropractors (and psychologists/psychiatrists) is that they are trained to keep clients coming back and back even when there is no longer a need (except the doctor’s bank account). There are good and bad in every profession.
Acupuncture does work , as least for food sensitivities, as I can personally testify, BUT, (why is there always a “but”?) if you continue eating the same foods too often, the symptoms will reoccur. This happened to me. The acupuncture worked for six years for soy, but returned recently (in the other arm – isn’t that curious?).
Hypnosis and Subliminal Training may seem pretty far out, but actually both do work pretty well for at least some, if not most, people. Again, the results are individual. In my practice, I have had great success in treating asthmatic children with my Relaxation Technique. I do not believe that the allergy “trigger” was “cured”, but the symptom of asthma was “disconnected” from it successfully. In recent experiments with dozens of volunteers suffering with many allergies as well as many different “brain problems”, over 75% reported dramatic lessening of symptoms from ADD to depression, and virtually 100% “cure” of Insomnia and other sleep problems of all types. If we remember that allergies/sensitivities are products of our immune system, and that system is controlled by our unconscious mind, why shouldn’t subliminal Training and even hypnosis be very effective? It is certainly a conduit to that unconscious mind of sorts, and can be effective.
Homeopathy can also be effective. I saw many allergy/sensitivity “cures” done by Dr Fred Yost of Stuart Florida some years ago. The problem is that he was one of the best, and there are few in this country that actually get their remedies from Germany as he did, so I cannot comment on their efficiency in allergy work.
Those are some of the current options. There’s always snake oil and other similar cures that use the placebo effect as well, and perhaps that’s why most of these above work so well when they do. Which will be most effective for you individually depends on your individual case, where you live, what you eat, what you do for a living, how much money you have, and many many more variables.
To really get well again, YOU are going to have to work hard, and do some research on your own. No doctor knows your body like you do (or can at least). In the long run, your better health is really up to you.
Tough cookies, but that’s how it is. I hope this helps you to do it.
Good luck,
Phil Bate PhD.

Existence of Hypnosis in Ancient Civilizations by Orxan Ibadov
History of hypnosis starts from the early ages of history. In ancient times, people used different forms of hypnosis techniques. Below I will discuss the ancient history of hypnosis and how it has been used in ancient civilizations.
In ancient civilizations, hypnosis was mainly used for healing purposes, especially in the religious ceremonies. People who applied hypnosis were referred as the witch doctors, medicine men, healers, shamans etc.
The earliest evidence of hypnosis was found among shamans. Shaman paid special attention to the concentration during the healing. He did not use any chemicals or alcoholic substances in the first 24 hours of the process. Because he needed strong concentration, so he avoided anything distracting.
During the process, shaman made himself as comfortable as possible, which allowed his subconscious mind to become strongly focused. Only after this he started the healing process.
All the activities during the healing process were rhythmic and monotonous. The repetition and constancy allowed shaman’s subconscious mind to become strongly focused which helped him to connect with the spirit of the patients and heal them this way. So, shaman entered in a powerful process of visualization and suggestion during which he willed the sick person to be healed.
The hypnosis experience of shamans has been widely used for creating modern hypnosis models. The father of modern hypnosis – Franz Anton Mesmer researched the techniques of shamans and used them to improve his famous hypnosis theory – animal magnetism.
Hypnosis techniques have been widely used in ancient places such as Egypt, Greece and others. There are lots of helpful hypnosis tips and techniques in an Egyptian medical text – Ebers Papyrus which is the first written record of hypnosis techniques.
In Ancient Greece, there was The God of Sleeping – Hypnos. The words hypnosis and hypnotism come from this Greek name.
Sleep temples played an important role in the ancient societies. People believed the power of sleep temples and went there for healing purposes.
Avicenna made a distinction between sleep and hypnosis. In his “Book of Healing” he talks about the hypnotic process and how one can create conditions in another person to accept the reality of hypnosis.
In ancient civilizations, hypnosis like techniques were used to put people into a sleep, not in a hypnotic trance. Today, it is commonly accepted that hypnosis is much more different than sleep, but the ancient hypnosis techniques are still very helpful for learning and understanding the hypnotic process.
This is an overview of ancient hypnosis history and how it was in the past. Learning ancient hypnosis history allows us to improve the new hypnosis techniques and understand the modern hypnosis better.
Orxan Ibadov is a professional hypnotist who teaches you hypnosis secrets. He invites you to learn the history of hypnosis and discover how hypnosis has been improved from 17-th century to nowadays.

How self hypnosis will help you in losing weight fast by peterjune1
Obesity is a disease and it must be treated like a disease. Obesity increases risk of other diseases also like heart problems, diabetes and blood pressure. Studies have shown that more and more people are becoming obese in this generation than in previous generation. Excessive use of cars and motorbikes and lack of any physical exercise is a reason for this. There are also some psychological reasons of obesity.
There are serious psychological repercussions of obesity like depression and lack of confidence. Often we can see healthy kids in schools making fun of over weight kids, boss also not taking obese people seriously, obese man and women having hard time in finding suitable partners for themselves. Obesity takes a toll on personal relationships as well. There are also financial worries that are part and parcel of obesity.
Self hypnosis makes you aware of the things that are going on inside your subconscious mind and helps you in breaking the pattern. Over eating is a kind of thing that we do almost by instinct, so it is necessary to understand the working of subconscious mind.
Self hypnosis will help you in losing weight by giving you the mental strength that is necessary for continuous workout and dieting. Many people start doing exercise and dieting, but they are not consistent enough to achieve any significant result. For self hypnosis to be successful you have to believe in yourself and self hypnosis and you have to be committed for losing weight. Advantage of self hypnosis is that it is not forceful. Self hypnosis changes your habit in a very subtle way, since it involves subconscious mind and you cannot insert anything forcefully in the subconscious mind.
You must not set unrealistic weight loss targets. You should move forward step by step. In many cases, it has been seen that if someone loses too much weight in a very short interval of time, there are chances that if that person is not very strong mentally, he or she may gain excess weight again.
Self hypnosis doesn’t tell you to do things but it encourages you to do the right things that will help you in losing weight fast.
If you take proper diet, you don’t have to do heavy exercise at all. You just have to play your favorite sport or go for jogging. Self hypnosis makes the process of losing weight fun and helps you in staying fit for as long as possible.

Lose Weight, Quit Smoking, Make A Personal Change. The Secret Formula That Guarantees Success! by Alan B. Densky
One of the presuppositions of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is that there is a positive intention behind all behaviors. And based on that presupposition, when it comes to successfully eliminating negative behaviors, there is formula that we must always keep in mind. I’ll let you in on the secret in a minute. But first, I have a riddle for you to solve.
Riddle: A minister made his son drink lye, which burned out his vocal chords. What was the positive intention behind his behavior?
If you are like 99.9% of the clients who have come into my office since 1978, you’ll indignantly say something like: There’s no positive intention behind that behavior. But you would be 100% wrong. To answer this riddle, first you have to separate the behavior from the positive intention of the behavior.
The minister’s son was cursing. And the minister believes that if a person curses, his soul will be condemned to Hell. So the answer is that the minister was burning out his son’s voice box so that he couldn’t curse. So he was saving his son’s soul from being condemned to Hell.
The secret formula for success works as follows:
We must always respect the positive intent behind every behavior. If we have a compulsion to use a behavior that we don’t like, we can easily get rid of the compulsion to use that behavior providing we find another behavior to substitute in it’s place that is as effective and available at accomplishing the same outcome, but is more consciously acceptable to you. This is called a REFRAME.
When clients come into my office, one of the first things that I do is to take a through case history. Let’s say that they come in and ask me to help them overcome their appetite. Conventional wisdom tells us that the two main reasons that people eat excessively are:
(1) For relaxation and pleasure;
(2) Because eating can be a conditioned response. For instance, if a person eats while they are watching TV, they will develop a conditioned response, and thereafter, every time they sit down to watch TV, they’ll get cravings and an urge to eat.
However, the above answer only takes into consideration the possible positive intention behind the eating behavior. What if they also have another behavior that is involved in the equation? For example: What if being fat is also a behavior for this person? I can hear your mind grinding right now as you think, Being fat isn’t a behavior, what are you talking about?”
Sorry but you could be 100% wrong. Here is one simple classic text book example that will illustrate the fact that being fat can be a behavior. It can be a behavior because it can accomplish positive outcomes.
Example: A woman is deeply in love. Her boyfriend breaks up with her, and breaks her heart. Her unconscious mind wants to protect her emotionally and prevent her from having her heart broken again. So it motivates her to get fat to keep her out of relationships. That way she won’t get her heart broken again. The point is that everyone is totally different. And sometimes there are hidden elements at work causing compulsive behaviors. These are elements that are different for each person.
Here is another example: A woman comes into my office complaining of an uncontrollable urge to overeat at dinner time. During my case history, upon questioning, the woman explains how she was never been able to satisfy her father.
We did an age regression, and one of her earliest memories was of eating dinner with the family. And dad was insisting in a very loud voice that she clean her plate, even though she was full. So she cleaned her plate out of fear, and dad commended her for eating everything. It was one of the only times in her life that she could recall her dad telling her that he was happy with her.
Shoot forward to present day. Dad’s been dead for years, but the unconscious program he installed is still working. She still has a compulsion to clean her plate, even if she is feeling stuffed, because by cleaning the plate she is getting dad’s approval, and eliminating her fear!
So if you are having a problem making personal changes, keep in mind that there is a positive intention behind all behaviors. And keep in mind “The secret formula for success.”

Open Your Eyes to a Better World by Roseanna Leaton
There are many times when you hear someone say “sleep on it; you’ll feel better in the morning”. And almost always this is exactly what transpires. You do feel better after a night’s sleep. Why is this?
The answer to this is multi-faceted. The most obvious is that when you are rested you do tend to feel more relaxed and more optimistic. And then of course we are all aware of the benefits associated with taking a step back; you can regroup and gather your thoughts together as you take this moment away from the “thick of things”. If your emotions have come under pressure, the act of taking a step back allows you to calm your nerves and begin to think clearly once again.
There is an added benefit to “sleeping on it” which people tend to be less aware of. As you sleep you also dream. Dreaming is an essential aspect of how the brain works, and its purpose would seem to be that of conflict resolution. As you dream your conscious and subconscious minds interact in a different manner and unresolved issues are played out in a symbolic way. In this manner your mind instinctively works to find solutions to problems.
In a lesser way you will probably be aware of your minds problem solving abilities when you occasionally forget someone’s name and no matter how hard you try the name doesn’t come to you; but when you stop trying, the name just appears out of nowhere. If you give your subconscious mind a directive to find a solution it will do so, so long as you let it work in its own way and do not allow your conscious mind to interfere.
Your subconscious mind is so very incredibly powerful and the more you trust in it the more powerfully it performs. If you would like to learn to get your conscious mind out of the way and increase the powerful effect of your subconscious mind you could download a hypnosis mp3 and start to use self-hypnosis.
A friend of mine fondly calls self-hypnosis a “microwave sleep”, which is incredibly apt. Your brain waves in hypnosis change in a similar manner as they do when you dream, enabling you to access these instinctive restorative and problem solving mental states. And so simply by listening to a hypnosis mp3 in the comfort of your own home you truly can open your eyes to a better world.
