Self Hypnosis Regression
Self Hypnosis Regression

As an alternative health treatment, hypnotherapy is an application used to relieve pain or symptoms in relation to an individual's mental state. The common belief is that once a client crosses the threshold into a trance-like state, the patient becomes more open to the power of suggestion.
During the 1800s, several well-known healers actually facilitated a form of hypnosis in their treatments, but later it became apparent that the treatments that were used then are what we today call, "Hypnosis." While many researchers have studied the field of hypnotherapy, the closest and more up-to-date version of the discipline is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Some methods that are often used in hypnotherapy include age regression; revivification; guided imagery; parts therapy; confusion; repetition; direct suggestion; indirect suggestion; mental state; hypnoanalysis; post hypnotic suggestion; binds; and visualization techniques.
Assuming that you have an interest in participating in a hypnotherapy program, it is first wise to review the practitioner's credentials - does he have adequate hypnotherapy school training? Is he certified? How about client testimonials? These are just few things you should ask yourself prior to going into session. Since we've learned the terms involved in hypnotherapy, the next question is which one will your hypnotherapist facilitate?
Guided imagery and Visualization in hypnotherapy are basically the practice of visualizing a desirable result. For example, if you would like to improve your career outlook, it is common for a hypnotherapist to have you imagine the career you would like to have. Studies have shown that by visualizing and/or using guided imagery for the material and immaterial objects of our desire helps to manifest our innate abilities and thinking processes to materialize real and productive outcomes. These particular hypnotherapy methods are often used as complementary cancer therapies.
One of the more well-known hypnotherapy techniques used is post hypnotic suggestion. We've watched how stage hypnotists have "made" people to walk like chickens when a specific word or phrase is said. In reality though, post hypnotic suggestion is facilitated moreover for relaxation and self-healing.
Hypnoanalysis, in a sense is similar to age regression therapy. It is a unique hypnosis method whereby a patient is "brought back" to past experiences; confronts those experiences and releases them so she can move forward in life.
While these are just a few descriptions of the many techniques used in hypnotherapy, the primary goal in any session is to achieve an effective result. Evidence does support clinical hypnosis as a means for pain and weight control; and has been successfully used to help people stop habitual habits, like smoking, for example.
