Hypnosis And Memory
Hypnosis And Memory

A craftsman is limited by the tools he has or doesn't have. A carpenter with only a hammer can do just so much, just like the gardener with only a shovel. With more options the choices become greater. And just like all of us who are born into this world without a list of instructions, it's part of our job to learn, to explore and to develop tools to give ourselves more options as well.
Self hypnosis is one of those tools learned by many to improve the quality of life. Two reasons make its learning and practice well worth the minimal effort necessary. First, it is the deepest form of relaxation known today, without the use of drugs or chemicals. A short 5-15 minute session of self hypnosis is the equivalent of a deep sleep of 1-2 hours. In this Alpha state, endorphins are released into the blood stream to restore and rejuvenate. Need more energy? You can learn to create energy on demand.
Second, applying self hypnosis will speed up the learning rate 2X5 times normal. Improving memory, reading faster, giving powerful business presentations, stopping smoking, controlling eating patterns, etc. The possibilities are endless. If an attitude or habit has been learned (what else?) then it can be relearned using self hypnosis, quickly and effortlessly as a catalyst for change.
All hypnosis is self hypnosis. You do it yourself. If you are working with a hypnotist one on one or listening to a recorded session, you are hearing the words, but it's always up to you to follow through or reject what's being said. You cannot be made to do anything that contradicts your ethics, morals or religious convictions. You are always in control.
What hypnosis (self hypnosis) IS, is an altered state of consciousness that shuts down the limited, judgmental, critical portion of the brain, just enough to allow the positive suggestions the opportunity to make deeper impressions on the subconscious. Thoughts become things. Using hypnosis those thoughts are more powerful/influential. If you stay consistent with daily sessions and the repetition of goals/affirmations within the sessions, you will see changes happening effortlessly (subconsciously) without the tensions of will power (conscious.)
Learning self hypnosis is easy and fun. Keep it simple is the same basic idea that makes most valuable things in life work best. Here's how:
• Create a list of positive goals 1 What do you want? 2 Word each suggestion in terms of the final end result. (i.g. I weigh 125 lbs. and I am slim, trim, firm and healthy).
• Create a system of relaxation (a few relaxing things to do, like 3 deep breathes, picturing a great day at the beach, counting down from 10-1) and take the few minutes to relax before you...
• Picture each suggestion, in your relaxed state of mind, by repeating it silently, visualizing the end accomplishment of each suggestion and for each goal repeated and visualized, attach a positive feeling before moving on to the next goal.
Your session time may take from 2-15 minutes, but as with most good things, it's the quality rather than the quantity of the experience that matters.
Do these sessions 2 times each day (preferably when you go to sleep and again when you wake up and watch how your decisions change in the course of your day. Habits and attitudes will change, sometimes gradually or sometimes quickly depending on how attached you are to them, if you remain consistent with these "reprogramming sessions," and your desire to show yourself what you can do rather than what you can't.
This is fun yet serious stuff. Mind...matters.
