Self Hypnosis can lead to a better life full of relaxation and little stress. It is simple to do, you do not need someone to help with self hypnosis techniques. The techniques can come in handy when the kids are driving you nuts, work becomes more than you can handle, or when you and your spouse do not see eye to eye.
Meditation and self hypnosis are somewhat alike in technique. You must relax the body which makes the hormones that cause stress weaken and you must concentrate on other things besides what is bothering you. In self hypnosis you create affirmation statements that will help you fight that problem and find solutions. Affirmations will also give you self confidence to help you be successful.
Affirmation statements should be very positive declarations that will make your life and the lives of those around you better. You can just have one affirmation statement or maybe you would like to try more than one. They need to remain positive in nature. Always pick and memorize your affirmations before you try to go into a self hypnosis trance.
You will need to have a place to do the self hypnosis and you want to make sure you will be totally comfortable in this place and that no one will bother you for the duration of the session. Once you find that place you can start. Relaxation is the key to good self hypnosis so the body must be totally calm and relaxed. To do this start by tensing the muscles in the neck and shoulders then breathe out and release. Remember what that feeling was like and try to relax the neck and should muscles even more. Progress to the arms, the back, the stomach, legs and so on. Your body should almost feel like it is floating. While you relax each part of the body affirm that you are doing so by stating I am relaxing my left shoulder now, I am starting to relax the upper part of my back, and so on. Every once in a while throw in one of your memorized affirmation statements and continue relaxing. Mix the relaxation affirmations with the positive affirmations you have prepared.
Keep sessions to 15 or 20 minutes long. Sessions can go longer but when you are just starting out with self hypnosis your likely to fall asleep. Set a timer for 20 minutes to make sure you do not fall asleep.
You can get recorded affirmations if you are having trouble making your own. There are CD's out there to purchase or MP3 recordings to download. When it is time for bed just turn them on before you go to sleep. You can find recorded affirmations on just about any subject including stress.
Self Hypnosis allows you to set goals and prepare what you wish to achieve prior to the session. Your mind knows what these goals and objectives are which makes them all the more real when you perform a session. Suggestions must go to the conscious mind first then they are processed to the subconscious mind. The subconscious takes over when you are relaxed or about to go to sleep and the subconscious mind can not differentiate between what is real or fantasy. If you can by pass the conscious mind the subconscious will take an affirmation and make it real in your mind. So if you state that you will no longer crave chocolate your subconscious may prevent you from wanting chocolate. You may find yourself snaking a little healthier and not even realize you are doing it.
Self Hypnosis allows you to deal with anger and stress. You can reach that unobtainable goal you have been trying to reach for years. You can deal with that problem that has been nagging you for a long time. Self Hypnosis can become an advantage to you and allow you to live in peace and tranquility.
