Fear Of Flying Hypnosis

Fear Of Flying Hypnosis

Holiday stress increases flying anxiety, no doubt about it. Often, it isn’t just a fear of flying, it’s the stress and hassle of making your way through the airport.

The thought of going through a crowded airport only serves to increase the stress. Even if you don’t fear flying, you may feel a bit claustrophobic, have a fear of heights or a fear of not being in control.

Recent past occurrences don’t help. We can remember that Captain “Sully” Sullenberger safely landed his plane after birds obstruct and disable the engine. Two Northwest pilots fly well beyond their destination because they were distracted by their laptops. And in a third occurrence, a pilot was found to have been inebriated before his flight.

Anxiety builds as the holidays approach. This holiday stress sometimes builds to the point of panic. We get busier tending to all the details that come along with the festivities including traveling to visit family and friends.

Who has the time to drive? No one does. Flying is the only way to go. Here are 7 tips to help you make it through the airport with less stress and peace of mind.

1. Arrive early so that you can make it through long lines and airport security. This will give you peace of mind as you realize that you won’t miss your flight.

2. Wrap your gifts after you make it safely through security. Also, remember to finish your drink before you go through. That includes the water bottle you may have tucked away in your carry on.

3. Before you go to the airport, measure and weigh your luggage so that you don’t have to pay a surcharge.

4. The TSA takes all comments very seriously. While on the job, they do not have a sense of humor, so keep your jokes to yourself.

5. Realize that delays are inevitable and bring along something to do.

6. Don’t read the news or Google ‘airline crashes’ before you go. This will only serve to increase your fear.

7. Check in online before you go so that you can print your boarding pass. You’ll be able to chose the seats you want. Some airlines now include a surcharge for this privilege. It’s worth the small extra fee to reduce your stress.

Following these tips will help make your trip through the airport a little easier. Often the fear of flying is just the fear of not knowing what to expect in the airport.

You don’t want to stay home and miss all the holiday fun. You will find that it is worth a bit of hassle to travel and see your friends and family. The memories will be long lasting.

Wouldn’t you rather be in the picture instead of looking at it?
